I've rooted for Marbury just as much as anybody but I think you have to look at this main thing. We are all creatures of habits and every coach Marbury has played for has been more of the same. He couldn't play for many real good to great coaches such as Saunders, LB and most stunningly, Mike D'Antoni. All Steph had to do with Mike D was play even just a little defense and he can run and do as he pleased on that offensive end. But he played no D and made things hard for everyone.

And with LB, he was expected to be so much more awesome, and at some points, he was, but for the most part, he couldn't handle the crap LB gave him (Unlike Billups, Iverson ect...) and started making up big time excuses.

Therefore, what on Earth makes us think Marbury will start doing differently for Isiah. If anything, I bet Marbs will feel a sense of relief that his boy is coaching the team and will have less of an urgency to do "Anti Marbury things". Like play defense.

And another thing that Isiah has preached for, evidently, is that everyone stick around for eachother. Marbury has never been known for that. Evidence shows that people being creatures of habits, including Marbs, that he will drive Isiah off the wall like he did with all his other coaches, and sooner than later, be gone.

I hope differently b/c I do root for him, but lets prove this post wrong Stephon!

As for Francis, I think it will pretty much be the same. Isiah is gonna hate his selfish style and No D bad attitude.

They'll both be gone. For who? I don't know. How? I don't know. But I think it's gonna happen.

And when you think of it with Marbury, Isiah is going to have the players doing a lot of cutting. Seems like the 1 on 1 will be kept to a minimum besides for the low post guys. He's requiring that everyone play hard on both ends, especially defense. All of this completely goes against Francis's and Marbury's games! Lets see how they respond. I sure don't see this love afair between Marbury and Isiah lasting so long though.

Do you even know what the offensive scheme is? In essence its a lot of high post and low post offense, using picks to breakdown the D and open up all sorts of options. The offense also features more drastic spacing of the floor and thus there are wide open lanes to attack the basket. How you think this doesn't fit with Steph and basically all of the players on this team is beyond me. Steph, Francis, Jamal and Nate with THRIVE in this offense. In addition we have the bigs to run this offense too. All of our bigs are athletic and have good hands. I don't expect that they should have any problem catching the short passes from Steph and Francis that will be there in this offense.

If this was an offense that involved a PG staying at the top of the key and trying to pick apart the defense like LB's system, then i'd agree that neither Steph nor Francis is very good at that. This system tho should be right up their alley. Expect to see some spectacular dunks from Francis and many of our players.

The only guy worthy of wearing the #3 Jersey is John Starks. Case Closed.

Marbury's not going anywhere, and will probably have a bounce back season.

Bounced right back out of the 1st round of the playoffs - if that.

Revert to his normal numbers, for better or worse.

marbury is going down with the ship...so he's not going anywhere.

He's going to return to 20/8 and the knicks may or may not get bounced out the first round, but if they did, that would still be a return to the direction the knicks were headed before last year.

Francis may be gone, and it may happen at the deadline...the hope is that minnesota and/or some other team in need of a guard and ticket sales has a worst record than the knicks.

all kool aid all the time.

What makes you say that. Isiah is fighting for his job and he's competitive as hell and will do anything to win. If he doesn't like what Marbury is doing for him he'll do anything to get him off the team.

Marbs and Isiah are in this together...They are both in a sense fighting for their careers in the NBA..You subtract Marbs from this team there is no one else to competently run this team...Whine all you want about Marbs' game, the Knicks struggled mightyly without him last year...You clearly saw what he brought to the table in terms of running an offense..The Knicks doesn't win 30 games without Marbs next year...He takes the pressure off all the other young players on the team... He is too muhc of a cog right now to remove him...Also who wants that contract?...Did the numbers change?..

I agree about winning without Marbs. But I don't think our focus should be on winning today. It should not be on making moves to ensure 35-40 wins this year. This year's record should be irrelevant. What we should focus on is moves that get us closer to a championship.

While you are right about that..We should be building, but the ultimatum put to Isiah will make him think about winning first this year...I hope the young guys get the minutes needed to continue to develope..
