>>That the Knicks are introducing a significant new player at all is something of a surprise. Thomas had said he did not expect to make a major roster move or use the team’s midlevel salary-cap exception.
Thomas also said he would trade his Moms if he felt it would make the Knicks a better team. He is a smarmy and competitive as they come. He cannot be trusted.
Who you gonna believe?
All of a sudden the composition of the Knicks frontcourt just got a bit more intriguing

The main point is that he lied to us, and for that, he can never be forgiven.
j/k
I like the JJ2 signing, just hope he's worth an extra $5 a ticket or whatever he's gonna cost the fans.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

>>Cap space, the lack thereof and the harm it creates is greatly exaggerated IMHO.
>>There are too many teams out there with no cap space problems who have had no success building a winner. So the cap space phenomena is overanalyzed and used as an excuse far too often.
>>This is why I have always respected ZEKE’S approach because he has never used the lack of cap space as an excuse. Instead ZEKE has said these are the cards that we have been dealt so I will make the best deal for talent upgrades that I can and damn the torpedoes.
>>Oh yes, Q_RICH is very tradeable, plus ZEKE has the ending contracts of MO and JALEN, both of whom figure to have their market value surge upward the closer we get to the mid-season trade deadline. Each has the potential to bring us high draft choices in return as well as free up roster spots if that is the direction we elect to go come mid-February.
STOP ISIAH THOMAS NOW BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!!!!!

Where did he lie to you??? He said he did not EXPECT to make a move, which is quite different than saying he wasn't going to make a move. Merriam webster definition of Expect : to anticipate or look forward to the coming or occurrence of <we expect them any minute now> <expected a telephone call. This thread was just an excuse to jump on IT. Amazing.

It ain't my money. I don't attend games, so I don't have to pay those ridiculous prices to fund the Knicks fiscal foolishness.
I'm still hoping the Knicks will become the first NBA team with a billion dollar payroll sometime in the next couple of years. Man, that would be great! It aaaiiiiinttt mah money sucka!

thank god the excuses are gone this year. I dont have to listen about how its Larry's fault or anyone else but Isiah and the players. Unless of course Jalen and Francis stink (remember they are only here because of Larry).
Isiah's coach Isiah's players Isiah's roster Isiah's win-loss record
Its only been 3 years and $300mm... lets see the magic happen

Well, a lot of us have to pay for cable to watch the games. Cable/satellite costs grow in order for the companies to license the MSG/cablevision broadcasts...

Isiah has always added pieces. Now it appears he is adding pieces that fit to a plan as opposed to acquiring talent that doesn't fit. Isiah is no longer managing like he has a fantasy team, he appears to have a plan when he acquires players. Imagine the success Lenny, Chaney, or Brown could have experienced if they were working with a GM who brought in players that the coach needed to make his system work.

CrushALot - unlike his predecessor, who spent freely on aging players with little or no versatillity, Isiah Thomas has upgraded the frontcourt with four compelling players, all 24 years old or younger.
That core will have an opportunity to grow together as a unit.
The responsibility to lead on the floor falls with Marbury and Crawford... with Mardy Collins as the apprentice
I can live with that

eVil - how do you like the Knicks revised frontcourt?
I like Curry, Frye and Jeffries. I hope they play well. I don't know what else to say. I want to be as optimistic as I used to be, but I can't. I'll be very happy if the frontcourt plays well. Don't take my comments personally, I hope both you and Rv make it to the season opening get together so we can make fun of each other in person...

We once calculated Isiah added over $200mm in future salary since coming here. That doesnt included luxury tax, and that was before trading for Francis, Jalen Rose and adding Jefferies. If someone wants to look into it and figure out how much additional $$$ he's taken on since being here I bet the figure is $250-$300mm, and thats pre-tax. We should be looking at a roster full of young high lottery caliber prospects on the roster right now with $25mm in cap space coming at the end of the year. Instead we are hoping and praying Eddie Curry shows up in shape to play.
But why focus on the obvious negative. Hey.. we got Balkman. Me like. I smell round 2. Go Isiah.

fish.mike - do you count Houston and Junkyard Dog coming off the payroll after this seaon OR... the distinct possiblity that Mo Taylor, Jalen and/or Steve Francis could be packaged in a trade deadline blockbuster?
200 Million soulnds a bit over the top but
it ain't my money
Don't ow but the Knicks have a core of 26 and unders that doesn't suck that bad.
