It looks like team usa, with largely the same stars that got nothing but bench time under LB and got routed by puerto rico just blew them out using those same stars. Melo, Wade and LJ.

The knicks will learn from LB's mistakes as well.

Why is this about LB? The team USA concept is completly revamped. How did the US team do at the 2002 world championships? Who coached them then?

wasn't it a bunch of no names ? Cause no star wanted to take the risk to come and play because of terrorism ? I may be wrong though.

Yeah, that wasn't a well put together team either. But you know who coach those guys too. George Karl. See the patern.

You try to juggle Marbury and Iverson on the same team

And seriously what a bunch of *****s, that couldn't play in the games because they were afraid, like a terrorist would actually bomb the olympics where all nations are united.......

I hate getting politcal but if half these athletes weren't bitching half the time they could change the world with their money and there fame, a select few do but these guys just waste there money and have no concept of how lucky they are and what a privelege it is to play for their country.......

That being said this team is going to destroy everyone in its path because they are motivated and not out to just relax and party like the last team.......and i am sure the existing player are embarrassed how sad a performance they put on

George Karl is just as bad as LB. Both coaches think egos start and stop on the floor with their own sizeable egos. Both are slow to adapt and horrible offensive coaches.

George can use a roster excuse, but he clearly had the best roster there. Larry Brown can use a roster excuse, too, but he also had the best roster - including Wade, Bron, Melo and Amare who he used sparingly or not at all. What would you call a coach who used Carlos Boozer over Amare? a genius?

yeah, all of those teams had god players on it. just because t-mac, kobe and shaq is not on the team people assume the team sucks. but the roster had major talent. just karl and brown had to utilize their strengths. we did have one flaw: lack of consistent outside shooting in 204. bur in 2002 they had ray allen. no excuses.

Please stop defending this guy...You as well as everyone else know that if a team is coached by LB, it's all about LB....It's good to see it's about the players for a change....

Hate the guy all you want. Hate what he did here, but discrediting what he's done in his career is pretty silly, petty and borderline immature. Let it die. It was a bad mix between LB and the "players" that we have here right now. Hope Isiah is a better fit and let's move forward. Get over it you big babies.

Team performs better AFTER MARBURY.

Marbury had the best performance in the last Olympics.
If it wasn't for him the U.S. would have shamefully walked away without any medal.

You just got me hyped. (digs up I Am Cd from box and puts in CD player) The third verse was meaner though.

[Verse 3]
It's a thin line between paper and hate
friends and snakes, nine millis and thirty-eights
Hell or the pearly gates; I was destined to come
Predicted, blame God, he blew breath in my lungs
Second to none, wicked turn wives to widows
Shoot through satin pillows, the desolate one
Took a little time to claim my spot
Chairman of the board until this game stop, and I side with the Lord
Ride for the cause while drivin thugs shot at my doors
Plottin I'm sure to catch me with they glocks to my jaws
Tried, stickin me up, but I flipped on these ducks (you tried)
Instead of me, ambulances were picking them up (that's what you get)
people fear what they don't understand, hate what they can't conquer
Guess it's just the fury of man
Became a monster, on top of the world, never fallin
I'm as real as they come, from day one, forever ballin
C'mon

It's true. People forget this. It was bad enough getting bronze but they probably wouldn't have been top 5 without Marbury's performances in the medal round games.

Once again Marbury excels at being the best player on an underperforming team. Anyone see the pattern?

your right... I also hope the new coach doesnt tell Richard Jefferson to shoot 25% for the entire tourney, or Duncan to commit 3 fouls after each 15 minutes of play. Those were easily Larry's worst moves.

I hope the new coach is smart enough not to keep play a 25% shooter when superior players are on the bench.
