Denver Post - Larry Brown has declined an offer to coach NBADL expansion team, the Colorado 14ers, this week, according to the Denver Post.

Gary Hunter, Broomfield Sports president and CEO, said Wednesday that he offered the expansion team's head coaching job to Brown this week. While Brown sounded intrigued, Hunter said he turned down the opportunity.

"Ninety percent of the conversation was about mutual friends and family," Hunter said. "He just indicated that he thought it would be a good opportunity for two reasons. He loves Colorado and he loves to develop basketball players."

Brown was fired in June by the New York Knicks a year after signing a $50 million contract.

"Under the circumstances, he decided he better spend some more time with his family before deciding about his future," Hunter said. "He said money is no object." [READ]

He was offered a job by the Colorado 14ers! The 14ers! This is funny on so many levels! How mighty have fallen. What a retarded team name too! How did they arrive at the #14 for a team name?

By definition, 14ers are Colorado mountains higher than 14,000 Feet (4,267 Meters).

There are 52 14ers in Colorado.

Not counting the kobe incident.

Oh, now I get it. It still would be hilarious if Brown went from being voted the best coach in the game to coaching the 14ers in just a 12 month span!

IN the time it took you to write that response, Larry made more money than you'll make all year.

Thats hilarious!

We really have not heard anything about the Stern arbitration. I would think the Knicks and Larry would want to settle that issue this summer, but I have not heard anything about a hearing date. I know Stern cannot be happy with what LB did in the Olympics, so I think he is going to stick it too him somewhat (or at least I hope so).

We have no clue whether its settled or not, it could have been settled a long time ago but I'm sure part of the agreement is that both parties have to keep their mouths shut when there is a ruling.
