The Knicks are trying to trade Quentin Richardson but there isn't a market for a player with a bad back and an equally bad contract. They are also looking to trade Malik Rose, Maurice Taylor and Jerome James, whom the Knicks gave their mid-level exception to last season. Rose and Taylor are each entering the final year of their contracts and thus would have more value around the February trading deadline

So did they screw up and mean Jalen Rose or did they screw up and give Malik a year less then he's signed for?
Either way...damn screw ups.

Too bad there isn't another GM like Isiah for Isiah to make a deal with.

They need to buyout these guys (except Q) unless some miraculous trade where we're not taking back worse garbage comes along.

Surprise, surprise... half the guys LB wanted to dump.

Except Isiah, naturally, swaps Q for Crybury, and once AGAIN tries to rid us of anyone who stands up to him.

kinda funny isnt it? All these suckos that Larry wanted gone are on the block. Meanwhile back at the ranch Isiah offers the full MLE, drafts a defensive hustle player and a defense/pass first PG.

Maybe last year wasnt a waste after all... Larry showed Isiah that he needs to guys that play the right way

That would be the smartest way if not the only way.

C'mon- this isn't news! I could tell you that Isiah is probably looking to trade these guys- and he has probably explored the market for francis and realizes he must regain some value.

When Larry's the coach and wants more defensive type players Isiah tells him the roster is good enough as it is. When Isiah's the coach the first thing he does is acquire as many defensive type players as he can. Funny how that works.

Only problem is that if there is only the Knicks and one other team involved it is highly unlikely that the a team that would be interested in an ending deal would also be willing to take on either of those two.

There may have to be some kind of 3 way deal involved, if Q or James are traded, but what team in the NBA would even be interested in those two? Can't see that kind of deal coming any time soon, unless we have to take on someone else that the other team is dying to rid themselves of. My own fear is that it would be for someone like K-Mart, which is the a foreseeable way Q or James are traded. Is it worth the risk? That's debatable, but otherwise I think the Knicks are stuck with Q and James until they improve, or their contracts come close to the end.

Why does everything have to have a Larry brown twist to it?

Jalen and Taylor are on the block to be traded. Even they know that. Jalen even said it once in an interview.

I personally wouldn't trade jj cuz I would use him as an enforcer, which is something he is good at.

Malik is a good player just on the wrong team. He would be nice on someones bench just not the knicks. Q-rich should be the starting 3 but can the dude bounce back from injury?

With all that said, the guys mentioned to be on the block are the worst players on the knicks roster. Nuff said I think.

Ne thing. All these cracks about Isiah doing what Larry wanted to do are fair enough. But then we are discussing Larrys performance as pseudo-GM, not his performance as coach. His job wasn't to be GM, it was to be coach, and sometimes you have to make do with what you have as a coach, and Larry did a piss-poor job of that last year. Conspiracies aside, any coach deserves to be fired after the job Larry did last year. Its one thing to try and break players down, and another thing to win 23 games.

I agree with the LB remarks. The coach's job is to get the most out of the players he has. Larry did one of the poorest jobs of coaching that I can remember and deserved to get fired. Moreover, Isiah was not against adding defensive players to the team, he just did not want to add the guys Larry wanted, i.e. Theo Ratliff. Isiah would have added defensive players even if Larry had stayed.

It's hard to know what to think. Many of these are guys you'd say Larry LOVED if you looked at how much he rewarded them with playing time. We can probably agree that the biggst buyouts (most expensive) that Larry wanted are not mentioned here: Marbury and Francis.

The reality is, if we manage to trade those guys, we're getting back some pretty awful contracts in return.

Do you STILL want to trade those guys?
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Next-town-brown wanted to dump Marbury, Francis (the guy he pleaded for). Judging from what everyone observed on the hardwood last year I would say Q and Malik Rose were two of his favorites.

BTW, it was obvious this team needed some help defensively. Next-town-Brown or no Next-town-Brown, i'm sure Isiah would have tried to add defensive minded players this upcomming season....

to be fair though, i don't think LB mentioned Malik & Q Rich as guys he wanted gone this offseason... Marbury looks to be here as long as Isiah is (i'm convinced they're having an illicit gay affair, but it's just a hunch. ;p)

So Isiah and Brown agreed on two of the J. Rose high salary veterans and this is stunning to some people?

Q-Rich: Disagreed
Malik: Disagreed
James: Agreed
Taylor: Agreed
Marbury: Disagreed
Francis: Disagreed
J Rose: Disagreed

Wow! Flip a coin and on average you'll agree 3.5 out of 7 times!
