These will sell big time! I mean, he's such a lovable character! Maybe they can put them right next to the A-Rod shoes!

if nothing else, Steph's 1 of the more charitable athletes there are these days... he's always giving back to the community, so i give him props for that... only wish he could have the same type of unselfish mentality on the court.

I think its a great idea. You know he gets a lot of flack, but the man really does care deep inside. I think the tough exterior gets in the way, but its what made him who he is and sometimes that's hard to change. I'll be buying the kicks for my kids and I hope the whole thing is very successful for him. It'll spur him on to do even more as he gets older and maybe others will follow suit.

Do they come with "All Alone" stitched on them already or do you have to do it yourself? I guess if you want an authentic Starbury shoe you gotta do it yourself.

Steve and Barry's is pretty low quality stuff though.. that's why it's so cheap. If S&B's has an item of clothing that's only a little complex (maybe a hoodies with a zipper) then you can be sure it'll break half the time. Happened to me. So I wouldn't be surprised if these shoes aren't exactly the most durable/quality ones out there.

I wonder how many children are locked up in some damp basement in china sewing up those cheap sneaks.

I hope Towelbury had the good sense to look into who makes them kicks!

ITs great that he can give urban kids a chance to wear them, but as a citizan of the world must respect the children whom are abused and taken advantage of.

I'm pretty sure no one in the corporate world gives 2 craps about poverty stricken kids working in sweat shops in 3rd world countries to make these products... otherwise, corporations like Nike & Reebok wouldn't be nearly as big as they are today... it's a sad statement on society today, but in the end, greed always wins out... at least in Marbury's case, greed doesn't seem to be the motivating factor here... in this case anyway.

Im not really taken in by Starburys public display of generocity as its pretty much a media event when ever he does somthing.

certainly better than nothing. Giving away haircuts and cheap sneaks ain't like building a community center, a hospital or a scholarship fund.

IM watching the games and still waiting for a reason to like him other than the promise of him bringing it on year in and year out.

Marbs is a good guy. He is not perfect but the dude understands he has a responsibility to give back. In my opinion, opening a hospital is something that reserved for guys like mutombo cuz that's where he came from. There are enough hospitals here in America. Putting local barbers on his payroll and putting out cheap sneakers for people is very positive. I tell you what, it might save a few lives cuz guys rob, steal, and sell drugs to get these superficial things.

He has a lot of things he is involved with. As far as community centers? He's already doing that and has been doing it for years. He is always expanding what he does. I wish more people would do what he does. When you have that money you are basically kings/queens of your community.

They won't crack, but they'll sure help you dodge responsibility.
