Not a reliable source, but I figured I would share anyway - Franchise moved out on our end:

8 Team, 19 Player Trade?
Written by Eze
Thursday, 13 July 2006
According to multiple sources, in a story broken by Sacramento's Grant Napier on Tuesday evening sports radio, owners and general managers are scrambling to put the finishing touches on a massive 8 team trade. Originally slated to include 6 teams and 16 players two other clubs jumped in on the action Wednesday night bringing the total players involved to as many as 19.

The Philadelphia Seventy-Sixers may go down as the franchise who started it all with their heavy shopping of guard Allen Iverson. Golden State is rumored to be the new home of the electric guard who has NBA Finals experience, an All-Star game MVP trophy, and a league leader in scoring to his credit. Golden State is set to send out forward Troy Murphy in the deal.

The Denver Nuggets are looking to settle the fued between head coach George Karl and disgruntled and oft-injured power forward Kenyon Martin. The New York Knicks have coveted Martin seeking to place the rugged forward alongside Eddy Curry. The Knicks are set to send out Steve Francis to make room for KMart. Also outgoing from Denver would be guard Andre Miller.

The Sacramento Kings appear on the verge of losing guard Bonzi Wells but will seek to sign and trade him in this massive scenerio. Meanwhile the Indiana Pacers will be sending out forward/center Jeff Foster, guard Jamaal Tinsley, and forward Stephen Jackson.

The Atlanta Hawks are in the action looking to sign and trade forward Al Harrington. The Seattle Supersonics are rumored to be the 8th team as they are looking to sign and trade Chris Wilcox who's contract negotiations have come to an impasse.

Eight other players are involved in order to make the salaries match under the current CBA rules.

A huge press conference is scheduled for Friday afternoon as long as all parties can agree and the league approves this NBA record sized transaction.

If Isiah got Kmart for Francis it would balance out our front court and allow more playing time for Jamal and Nate. Still have to resolve the QRich situation.

Not saying I agree with getting Kmart, but why would it be the end for him?

IT would be pulling the Ultimate Layden move, trading for a player that NO ONE else wants or needs with a huge contract with a huge injury list and a bad attitude who relies on athleticism.

& who would he be giving up? a player that NO ONE else wants or needs with a huge contract & long history of not getting along w/his coaches & bad attitude who relies on athleticism... sounds like a fair enough trade to me.

I agree. I wants no parts of Kmart. I thought when you said its the end for IT, i thought you were indicating that Dolan would fire Isiah because of such a trade. This trade might help IT in the short term,( and Dolans stupid altamatum puts Isiah in a short term survival mindstate) but would kill us in the long term as far as the salary cap goes.

I wouldn't like this trade either. Martin's contract expires in 2010/2011. Coupled with his health problems... I'd be really hesitant.

Not that I like Francis on the team. I think he's excess baggage, but at least he's playable for sure and his contract is two years shorter.

And I'd rather have frye and lee get playing time than nate.

Oh well. We'll see.

your not the first person thats mentioned a massive deal in the works.

Francis sucks, I would be happy to have him gone. The upside of Kmart is he breaks down and retires.

if we save Denver money, we need to get first round picks.

If isiah is smart, and it is an 8 player deal, he will balk when Martin comes for his physical and get more value from the nervous owners...

he's been following the same path as Layden from day 1.

Martin is a difference maker and Curry definitely needs a guy like him next to him upfront but for how much longer?

the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

Multiplayers deals never really go through. I remember the last time there was supposed to be a multiplayer deal. . We were suppose to get Vin Baker when he was on a All Star level and Rice. lol The end result was we got Glen Rice with his bad knees and contract.

Not going nuts over this...but look at a lineup of:

Curry
KMart
Lee
QRich
Steph

Craw, Frye, Nate, Butler, Balkman, Collins off the bench

If this is true we will find out Friday. One thing is for sure is ezekielbearsports.com is a good website, but this deal is hard to believe.

isiah talked about steph and stevie playing together today during the game and didnt show any signs of stevie possibly being traded. Butler on the other hand you got the feeling that they are gonna let him go or trade him.

What did Isiah say (or not say) about Butler to give that impression? I kinds like the feelgood story of picking Jackie up from the trash. I hope he stays

i hope he stays as well....but when they asked him if they would keep him he avoided to say yes....he dodged it saying he would look at their options and then he went on to say that he had other players he liked. Usually if there is somebody you plan on keeping you would flat out say it.
