New York Post - Isiah Thomas had a conversation recently with Denver about Kenyon Martin, according to a league source, but talks went nowhere because the Nuggets only want expiring contracts.

Thomas is not interested in adding another $70 million in payroll unless he can get rid of Steve Francis or Jerome James along the way.

Kenyon has too many years left on his contract with big $$$ for me to support a trade for him. I like what he brings to a team as far as defense is concerned but his contract would absolutely sink the Knicks.

Only way Im taking him now is for a couple first round draft picks in return or if they take some of our bad contracts. Kmart would be fun to watch on this team, but his contract is way too big to take on just for an expiring...and not to mention his health.

I think Zeke will hold out until they accept MoT + JJ for Kmart or Francis for Kmart straight up. I'm sure he's dying to take Kmart, but would only do a trade where Denver took some money back.

I agree with Mr. Clutch. If Isiah brings him here, I think there has to be a 1st rounder or two included in the deal that will get sent along with Kenyon.

I would go for a JJ + Francis for Kmart and Patterson.

This is one of the many reasons I hate Kenyon, then add in his bum knees, sour attitude and ugly contract.. Yikes

On the other hand, for a move like fishmikes, it would be a little easier to swallow. We remove other unwanted contracts and duplication at the point. This free's up time for N8 & Crawford plus gives us a nasty forward (assuming he could pass a physical). His rebounding, shot-blocking and whatever is left of his athleticsm would be a nice compliment to Eddy.

Best case scenerio- he returns to form and gives us a wicked demension inside. Even at 80%(health) and all other cylinders clicking, we'd have a chance to upset someone in the first round.

Worst case scenerio- he's forced into early retirement for medical reasons and we're saddled until 2010/2011 with another absurd contract.

Damn, talk about rolling the dice!

i would do a jj + taylor for kmart and a pick, or kmart and a pick for francis. nothing else. i would'nt bail them out just to help there 'cause'. i don't care if karl and kmart are "supposed" to be getting along now or not. at the same time a gimp kmart is better than a slim, healthy jj any day.

That's a trade I could live with. Since it gets rid of JJ, clears up the PG glut & Patterson is another expiring contract.

Zeke would have to match Butler's offer sheet if this trade were to go down.

I don't think Dolan would allow Isiah to take back Kmart's contract without an equivalent contract going to Denver to offset it, nor should he.

Help! Where does K Mart play?

We have Frye, Lee & Curry to play three front court positions, assuming Lee gets time as a SF and that Frye slides over to the C as well.

Trading for K Mart is like trading for Francis- that is not where our problem lies.

Yes, Frye is a weak rebounder and Curry a zero on the defensive end- but unless Frye, as a logical choice, is getting traded- how can the minutes work??

Exactly! Not to mention the guy has bad knees and a huge contract. I have a feeling Isiah might start him at the sf position.

however, if we are able to get rid of francis and lose jj then it is by far an INCREDIBLE TRADE.

but no way that's possible.

I this Frye deserves to be the starting PF. Is KMart capable of starting at the 3?

If you have that trade you have to take it. As bad as Martin has been the last couple of years. It frees up room for Butler and the guard position. The problem is that the Nuggets want Frye.
