"Brown also never settled on a lineup (he used 42) or a rotation, which was one of the biggest gripes of the players and management. Thomas said he intended to limit the rotation to 9 or 10 players."

pick the 10 out of this group you think isiah is talking about:

steph, francis, jamal, nate, mardy, quentin, balkman, lee, jalen, malik, frye, mo, curry, jerome

he said the lineup would be set in training camp. I think that either Mo Taylor or Francis will be gone by the start of camp, but as is:

PG: Marbury, Crawford
SG: Francis, Nate
SF: QRich, Balkman
PF: Frye, Lee
C: Curry, Jackie

I concur, except that for better or for worse (probably for worse) I think big snacks will start over jackie, because Isiah would look pretty stupid, for signing him to that contract and then starting jackie over him.

Yes I guess its only logical that Isiah woudl feel that way. But I still think the big game will get the benefit of the doubt at first, and if jackie CLEARLY outplays him, then I dont doubt thomas will make the replacement.

I think that will happen around the second week of camp when Jerome sprains his hammy running to McDonald's. I also think it will become apparent very quickly that the second unit should be a running unit.

that was one of your weaker replies isles...interesting...interesting.

snippets i got from the article as well...

Thomas has been quiet about the starting lineup, but privately, he has indicated that Stephon Marbury and Steve Francis will form the starting backcourt. Francis became deflated last season when Brown — who advocated trading for him — refused to start him alongside Marbury.

PG: Marbury, Nate (so far nate has talked about playing point gaurd)
SG: Francis, Crawford (without a doubt a three G rotation with nate seeing spot duty)
SF: QRich, Qwoods (if woods isn't here, than possibly Balkman)
PF: Frye, Lee (is there even any doubT?)
C: Curry, JJ (while I like jackie, I think JJ has a role and that is lambier esque with more shot blocking...I'm counting the days until fishy apologies!!)

Playoffs baby...that's the measuring stick, and if you are not feeling the new knicks vibe, you ain't paying attention!

I agree, although I think there will be a trade for a foward before the season starts.

Marbury and Francis each get 35+ a night and start. Crawford settles for 6th man duty (which he excels at), plays around 25 minutes a night (but closes a lot of games out and is on the floor when it matters). I can see the Knicks going 3 G sometimes, which means Nate/Mardy will get some burn but not much.

I see QRich (unfortunately) and Balkman sharing time at small forward, along with Lee seeing spot duty at the 3 and the 4. Frye should get 35 minutes a night, as should Curry. Everything else is up for grabs.

I don't think Jackie or Woods will remain on this team.

Not bad, but let's use some imagination gere people

Lead Guard: Marbury, Collins (defensive size, Marbury is injured in December)
Other Guard: Francis (a return to All-Star form), Jalen Rose (for comic relief)
Point Forward: Crawford, QRich (Isiah runs three guards frequently)
Forward: Frye, *Butler, Adekele (Queens homeboy the surprise of SL)
Center: Curry, Lee ("if it was good enough for Dave freakin' Cowens....")
once a knick always a knick

I still think Francis will be gone. Once he's gone, he'll be replaced by Collins in the rotation.

C- Curry, Butler
PF- Frye, Lee
SF- QRich, Balkman
SG- Francis, Craw
PG- Marbury, Nate

IR/Invisible: Rose, Taylor

i think isiah is lying. he's going to play the following:

steph, francis, jamal, nate, mardy, quentin, balkman, lee, jalen, malik, frye, mo, curry, jerome

that's right. ONE lineup, 14 man rotation.

and what about the people Francis gets traded for?

I just see a lot of Curry/Frye C/PF combo's out there and cringe. I would love for those 2 guys to be effective and play together but I also think this is what drove LB nuts and kept him awake at night.

Who blocks out and rebounds?

Who picks up the guards after they blow by Franbury?

Neither Frye or Curry outlet the ball very well, so who else is going to start the fast break?

Frye was slow at 243. opposing penetrators eyes opened wide seeing he is now 260.
