I know players are hyped up because camp is just getting under way, but Frye's comments kinda put things into perspective (from a players POV). I'm going into basketball withdrawl right now big time.

Are you guys hearing this?
This is Channing Frye here?!?!?! Anybody wanna take a wild guess at why there are no posts?

Channing is a guy who everbody respects.

LOL!! I love it!!! Would a resident Larry lover care to analyze these comments for us?

Positive environment. Pfff Yeah!! Guys are being rewarded for playing well.

Channing is a class act, he didn't take the bait to bash Larry (and he shouldn't have, he's a young player who hasn't accomplished anything yet), but he did make it clear where he stands. I love it!!!

Not real candid in my opinion. He says Larry is a negative guy, and Isiah is a players coach. Two different coaching styles. He's not gonna say Isiah is no Larry, Killa. Isiah is his new coach remember? Nothing we didn't know.

Basically he is saying what we ALL already knew. The players are gonna like playing for Isiah alot more than they did playing for Larry. Once again, nothing we didn't already figure on. I think I have stated this fact about 5 times just today.

hmm...."You have your role on your team. You do your job or you won't play". Sounds alot like what Larry did, bro.

actually, it sounds like exactly what Larry didn't do.
WHo in the hell knew their role or was rewarded for playing the right way?
If that were the case David lee woulda been a perpetual starter.

FYI, DJ, this^^^ is why I can't let it go. That there are still some people here who think LArry did these things is unreal.

The whole reason Frye said it to begin with was to highlight a CHANGE that he has already noticed, and a positive one at that.

Actually you are right Killa. My bad. It is something Larry didn't do. Which would explain why Marbury, Curry, and Nate got so much playing time...

Seriously, would it make you feel better if we all posted that you are right...maybe sing Kumbaya? Your not letting it go because other people have a different opinion? Shocking!

It would make me feel better if Larry didn't give out conflicting instructions day after day.

He didn't just do that here though, he did it everywhere he has been. The reason so many people back Larry is because this is the exact same routine he has followed for 30 years! How did anyone expect things to be smooth sailing when he got here?!?

My perception, from watching the games and reading both Larry's and the players' comments, is that his heart wasn't into it this time around. It may or may not have been when he signed the contract, but sometime shortly after Steph got hurt, it appeared that he tanked and just collected a check.

Hopefully Channing can back up his statements this year by playing extremely well for Isiah Thomas.

Not real candid in my opinion.

It's not a matter of opinon joec, it's fact.

Channing spoke openly about the situation when asked and gave us specific reasons why he has a positive outlook. He also wasn't shy about pointing out things that were apparently lacking last year. I just hope things work out man, honestly I could care less who is coaching these guys. Just make it work damnit..

Oh really? The FACT that Channing said nothing we didn't know already makes it a FACT that it is candid? Ok, then....

Bro everywhere LB has been, even players that LIKE him say the exact same things about him. Someone said it before-It's not Larry's job to be liked. If these guys want to play for someone the have to like go to the damn YMCA rec. league and register a team.

nyk4ever - in case you missed it, Channing Frye played extremely well LAST season

He will only get better with experience, confidence and the respect of the refs.

What more can one ask but that?

Larry went senile. We didn't need an article to tell us this!

Apparently so did Lenny....who would've figured one GM would've hired two guys who would just happen to go senile a the exact moment the took over the Knicks......go figure.

I live near Toronto where he coached before NY. Most Toronto fans will tell you Lenny went senile well before coming to the Knicks. But there's more to senility than just record (see other post). That's why Lenny was far less senile than Larry.

LoL. Bonn, do you think Zeke made a bad call on Lenny, knowing that Zeke probably should have known that information?

Zeke made a TERRIBLE call on Lenny. I've said many times he should be fired as GM. Can we stick to Larry for once?

>>Maybe Brown had a long-term plan. His way was successful at every other stop in a 34-year coaching career, just not with the Knicks.

- Newsday

"He did what he felt was best, and it just didn't work out," Frye said. "I'm not saying if it was good or bad. It just seems like Isiah's the right person for us right now."

Channing Frye

Translation: just because the tactic worked someplace else, with another roster in a different time - does NOT automatically translate to the present.

For once? We've been sticking to Larry for about 6 freakin' months! *You brought up how Larry went senile-you don't think that it is relevant to bring up the fact that another seasoned HOF-caliber coach was brought in a season and a half before, couldn't win with the players Isiah got him, and was fired and labeled senile and forgetting to coach?

BTW-This thread is about the difference between Larry's camp and Zeke's camp. LB's "senility" had nothing to do with it...
