I think isiah and the knicks will win their 24th game BEFORE the all star break.

Would that be significant progress?

most say that LB tanked games for the Knicks. 23 wins this past year and if he didn't tank them it would have been around 35? 10 game swing reasonable? Progress *should* be benchmarked around the 35, right? Or something close? So, can we say that Isiah needs to read the 45+ mark to show that he improved the team?

Tanked or not a L is an L. I think progress would be this team playing together, putting up a fight, and posting 35+ wins. LB set the bar pretty low.

that's my thinking, But 45 is pretty much fantasy land considering how much this roster had been bashed and we only added two draft picks (one of them briggs hated, which means fish, et al fall in line in the bashing) to the mix of crappy talent (quotes from some of the posters, the papers and LB).

But sht, he get's 45 wins, then you guys really have to say that LB SUCKED!!!

I mean, 45 wins!?!?

That would have been second in the atlantic this past year and 5th overall in the east?

the bulls went for a 500 record and everyone is saying they are the second coming of the ... well, bulls.

Are you trying to tell me that LB did tank the season? Or, you just hypthetically saying that IF he did tank the season and SHOULD have won 35 then isiah SHOULD be able to "magically" erase last year from the entire teams memory and DOUBLE the win total of the great Hall Of Fame Coach with the awesome resume?

if that is true, and that happens, LB should be put out of his misery (I mean with a shotgun out back) AND needs to fork over the money he was paid.

But, you could be speaking hypothetically.

How may wins do you honestly think are enough to show significant improvement? and be careful, I'm going to use your answer to both asses LB's performance last year and your belief in isiah's moves that led to the current roster.

ps...sorry fishy for calling you out today in so many posts, but hey, I owed you for a few JJ comments while I was in lala land. it's all in good fun...well, sort of.

RV, I am talking hypothetical, of course. Lots say Brown under-achieved. IF he didn't underachieve would a bad but not really bad record for the team be 35 wins? If so, and if you are to say that Isiah made the team better, he would have to improve on the 35 wins with about a 10 game improvement. That's all I am saying.

RV, take a stand on this one and don't hide behind the quotes of LB or whomever. What is your improved record for this upcoming season?

35? 45? 40?

is this what it would take for Larry Brown supporters to admit he did a bad job?

I don't care if the Knicks win 20 games before the all-star break, if they are playing no defense then it won't mean a thing. Defense wins in this leauge and right now much of the Knicks rotation are known as well below-average defenders.

I guess this is the team we're going to war with, I'm not happy about and I'm nowhere near confident about it, but as usual I'll be yelling at the TV and rooting for the Knicks

If Isiah wins over 40 he should be annointed coach of the century. That would mean that not only is the team playing better but he must have done incredible work turning around attitudes.

I personally have had enough of predicitions. I want results. I wish our owner would give the man some time and space to coach the team without yealry ultimatums. All this does is place us at risk of Isiah making a move to save his job. I pray we get off to a good start so that this is not a future issue.
I just hope that people will like me

Martin, since you are asking others to lay it on the line, hows about you join in on the fun?

What win total (or range) would you have expected from LB were he here?
Do you think LB sabotaged the team?
Do you think this roster was really just a 23 win team?
And in what way would your expectations be different from LB vs. Isiah, if at all?

Lets see if I can pin one of the LB supporters down to something concrete. And all of you guys who would have liked to see LB stay, I'd like to know your answers to these questions as well (read: DJ, speak up).

Because its ahrd getting a straight answer out of the you guys.
