rumor from apparently credible sources in new orleans say the next move is:

chandler + malik allen for pj brown + jr smith.

so if/when chicago signs ben, they're really just swapping chandlers contract for his and pj is a one year rental at the PF spot.

Remember, Paxson is the genius who signed Chandler to a max deal, and that has worked out horribly. He is just fortunate that the Hornets were willing to bail him out of that signing. I wouldn't exactly call him Red for being able to move him.

Who knew the hornets were willing to take on all of this cash. They will have 2 guys that make 12 mil per for a long time, and neither are superstars. Whats gonna happen when Chris Paul's rookie contract is up?

I'm totally with you on that, but I'd bet that with a 15 game improvement over last year that wont be a problem.

dude, dumars drafted rodney white and darko milicic. but you see, a GOOD gm can make a mistake and keep on trucking. b/c good gm's have a plan and know how to execute it. paxson is a good gm that realizes that he needs to trade chandler. he signed him and he had a bad year. and now he's looking to dump him. make a decision and if it's not working out, move on. but our guy has too big an ego to admit mistakes and won't trade them away.

every single knicks fan, or at least every knowledgable one can see what paxson is doing in chicago and WISHED we had him as our gm.

Isiah's biggest problem is that he has probablyreceived contradictory instructions from Dolan. We he was hired, he was likely ordered to make the playoffs ASAP. That's why he traded for Marbury. It also caused him to disregard cap implications.

When it became apparent that Houston was basketball dead, he probably got Dolan to see that he had to rebuild, but he was stuck in cap hell, and still is.

So they hired Larry to work his magic, but Larry really only came for the money, and when it became apparent to him that he would have to adapt to the players he inherited because their contracts couldn't be traded, he demurred.

when you spend 500mm $ on players, you better win--no excuses weve gone through 4 coaches 21 players and a half billion $ we should win with gary coleman coaching

How can we have a rational discussion when your premise is that Zeke doesn't want to trade guys who are mistakes because of his ego? I mean can we base this conversation in reality and not on things like someones percieved personality or disposition?

We would have won with Gary Coleman, goes to show you how bad of a job LB did last year.

For the right deal, yes. I like both players and I would move them for the right deal. But I don't think those aquisitions were mistakes. And more importantly, neither does Isiah. I think if he thought they were mistakes he would try and move them. Fairly early in the season it was reported that he was agressively trying to move JJ, whom he had just recently signed. Where are you goign with this?

DJ is just trying to bait you into entertaining his belief that everyone that doesn't hate isiah is secretly fantasizing of having homosexual relations with him.

"Track records" make more sense than common sense and what goes on in reality.

By the way Paxson is an idiot and he is a lucky bastard. He has no clue what he is doing. He just makes moves to make them. It just so happens that all his moves have worked.

Why are they winning? Luck......Who knew Ben Gordon would be the player he is now? Who thought Hinrich would be this good? Who thought Hinrich would wind up being a point guard? Who thought Ben would get away with being a shooting guard? Who would have thought that a team with Songaila, Malik allen, and Sweetney as your power forwards would win? Why draft Deng and then sign Nocioni? Who thought Nocioni would be the player he is?

It's all freaking luck. Check all of Paxsons moves since he has been GM. He is a freaking lucky idiot. He's also lucky Larry Brown screwed the Knicks season over last year and gave Paxson the #2 pick. That pick would have been #15-20 with any other coach.

Don't confuse wins with being a genius as a GM. Paxson is an idiot. A lucky idiot.
