If he did something shocking in any other type of transaction (trades, FA signings), I wouldn't give him the benefit of the doubt. Given his draft history though and given that these two players do have some good strengths and fit team needs, I think it makes sense to patiently wait and see how they develop.

This guy might turn out to be good but even if he does, Isiah has no clue what it means to draft with value. The most value out of this pick would have been Marcus Williams and then taking Balkman at 29. This way you can either keep Williams or trade package him during the year with one our many horrible contracts. Thats my problem with all this.

you would think lb has EARNED at least one more year to coach as well.

but using one's history for current moves don't seem to fly with alot of people here.

Very true DJ. When people say that Isiah has earned the benefit of the doubt with the draft, I didn't hear these same people saying that for Brown.

great point.

how about this:

Isiah tanked the draft in a move top save his own butt.

Isiah is a good draft guy but I have noticed something about his picks...his absolute best picks were lottery picks at the begining of the draft. Mo Pete is probably the only guy that he drafted in the late rounds that was great (he did draft Mo Pete, right?)

The Three snit mongers on ESPN last nite were speachless about the picks and said that becasue its Isiah and he got some draft cred they would give him a pass.

So basically your saying the same thing.

So the only late guy he picked was Ariza?

Nate

Lee is a nice player but we should've took Gomes. he is everything Balkman is defensively and intangible wise plus he can put the ball in the hole.

Sure but you can also LOSE that right after a year of senility. Isiah's done nothing to lose confidence in his DRAFTING ability

I didn't hear them say that. But I guess they're very smart too!

Lee, Ariza, and Nate are at least decent picks.

I never said his draft history was flawless; I said it was good.

He knew he was going to get killed for this pick, yet he took him anyway. He may be arrogant, but he's not stupid.

I'll respectfully disagree on the stupid part. No lottery protection and not drafting players at value spots to me is stupid.
