we have no idea whether Chicago would have accepted that. Paxson said he wouldn't have accepted any protection on the pick, but I know no one believes a quote around here unless it's pro-Larry Brown.

What does Larry Brown have to do with this subject?

Then Thomas should have refused.

Apparently Isiah Thomas can do no wrong. All the Pro-Larry people have already stated Larrys flaws but you guys act like Isiah has done nothing wrong to this team and that he's the victim in all of this. Please.

Also what does this have to do with Brown?

This is stupid. We got Curry who I still think is better than any Center in this draft and Lee is a solid player who can fill our needs off the bench. The Lottery protection shouldn't have even been a huge issue if not for Larry Brown not coaching to win. All this 20/20 crap is based on the fact that we finished WELL below the # of wins we should have had. There's no way we should have ended up with the #2 pick. Most of that I blame on Larry.

I have to reluctantly admit that BRIGGS was right on this one, but at the time I didn't question it. The Curry trade was a gamble. So far it hasn't paid off, but there's still hope, I guess.

I'm glad lee is a knick, and he's a solid role player currently. I'm not one to cry over spilled milk.

I guess this brown thing is going to linger until win 24.

When does the MoT manup trade come back to the top of the message list?

Isaiah should never have made that trade without lottery protection. He shouldn't have had to include Lee. Chicago didn't want to keep Curry. No one else wanted him. Isaiah blew that one bad.

if it was so obvious we wouldn't be this bad, then why not protect it? regardless of where we picked, not protecting it is just careless. b/c even if this team won 35 games, we're still picking around #7 or so.

1 offseason ago is not 20/20.

LB and lottery protection have nothing to do with one another. What happens if Marbury is injured (ala David Robinson and Duncan)..... lottery protection is about the unknown.

dude, it's a direct indictment of our gm and his inability to look further than this current season. he did not take into account ANY downside this season. and in what is supposed to be one of the best drafts ever in 2007, he, again, didn't think anything bad would happen as to not protect that swap either.

you don't know what went on in the negotiating. To say he didn't want to protect the pick is just hating.

i'll say it again - there is no proof anywhere that Chicago would have accepted David Lee in order to protect the picks. Paxson, in fact has said he would not have done the trade with protection.

this is complete speculation.

of course isiah wanted to protect it. paxson said no. then isiah BUCKLED in a horny "i haven't gotten laid in 10 years" kinda way. it's NEGOTIATING like you said. and isiah BLOWS at it.

you walk away. let the bulls pay him $20 mil to sit at home for NOTHING. isiah must be the worst poker player in the world.
