Not a bad move for the Bulls. I think they are at the point where they need to stop acquiring rooks, and get some vets.

no way i would trade Duhon if i were the Bulls... he's the type of glue role player that championship calibre teams all seem to have... keep the #2, take a Ty Thomas or Morrison, & sign a banger down low like Reggie Evans... that would give them a very talented group of young players that can challenge for the Eastern Conference next season & beyond.

bargnani, morrison, ty, aldrdige, gay, roy, brewer, shelden, etc. = if you walk out of the draft with 2 of those players, you do it. duhon is a nice little player but it's tough to pass up a shot at two of those guys above.

i think they can still get a nice player at #16 & Duhon has already shown you that he plays very well in the current system... finding guys like him who can play well in a system & do multiple things well for you however you decide to play him (as a starter or as a backup) is not that easy to find, as Knick fans are clearly aware of.

Its pretty much over for the eastern conference if they move duhon for the 7, they can really improve themselves.....

If they can take Thomas and Foye it would improve the team greatly, and they resign sweetney on the cheap plus cap room that team can make a run at the NBA championship, if they over pay wallace for a three year deal at $36 million

Hinrich/Foye
Gordon
Nocioni/Deng
Chandler/Thomas
Wallace/Sweetney

that would be pretty tough to beat

I would think they might deal the 2. Shawn Marion rumor is out there. They might could get what they want at #7?

exactly, you don't pass up getting the 7th overall pick in the draft for Duhon, someone very good will likely fall or be there

i'd have no trouble at all giving up Nate Robinson & either 1 of our picks to get Chris Duhon... he's the type of player every winning team has on its roster.

Duhon, Lee & Frye would be the type of guys i'd want to see this team build around for the future.

I disagree. As much as I like guys such as Duhon and Lee, I don't think you build around them but instead use those type of players to surround the guys who are really being built around. Thats why I can't see Chicago passing up the 7th pick in the draft when there's a good chance they will be able to get a very good player there.

Frye is different, I think he has a chance at becoming more than a role player and can be one of those guys you build around.

you're correct in that Duhon & Lee are support type players... but unless we have high draft picks to get those nucleus type players to build around (we don't have any for the next 2 drafts), we have to build another way... i say just target players that can play well in a team oriented style game, & phase out the overpaid vets like Marbury & Francis.

Yeah in regards to our situation, I completely agree with you. We are in such a bad situation and with the picks we have we basically have to target guys like you described (maybe taking a shot here or there on a high ceiling prospect with a late pick) until we get competitive and college enough assets to get to the next level.

With the Bulls though, I think they have the resources to go for something better which is why I think that 7th pick would be good for them.

no doubt, the Bulls have plenty of great assets to offer other teams for a stud player.

another option for us to pursue a guy like Ben Gordon if you want that crunchtime money player that playoff teams all seem to have (not sure what we could give up though short of Nate, Lee & both picks, which imo would be too much to give).

i'd be happy if Nate simply learned how to play under control for a change.
