It does for me. With Larry, I wanted a couple of solid guys at PF and maybe a young stud PG. Now with Zeke as coach, I would much rather trade up to get one player who will contribute now, such as a Brandon Roy or Morrison.

Maybe offer Francis to Minny for Blount, Troy Hudson(cut) and the 6th pick (It works)....then use the 20 and the 6 to trade up to 3 or 4 to grab Roy.

Brandon Roy and Morrison? 20 and 29 picks wont get you a top 5 pick.

I edited to propose a trade that works to trade up...remember you can trade players for picks too.

I'm not sure where we are going so I'm not sure what we should take in the draft. Based on our roster I think a hustling shot blocking big man or a tough hard nosed SF or a heady PG should be priority one. But we will probably trade the roster, and fire the coach in February and at that point our direction may change and a small SG might be what we need. I just don't know. I'll just sit bakc and watch.

Here's the rub. Even if we drafted someone like Boone, Frye would start over him, which is a blessing and a curse because he is not a good fit for Curry, but with Lee behind him we may have the exact type of PF we need (except for the shotblocking). I think getting a pure SG or SF would be the best move for us, and I would prefer Roy because he is the most ready to play now which would at least gve Zeke something to work with while killing 2 birds with one stone (develop youth and win).

There are also a fair amount of SF's available for the MLE.

I love Roy, but then where are his minutes coming from. Who is losing minutes that won't complain and drag Isiah down with him?

You know your right it does change my views of what I think the Knicks will get. Before Larry was fired, I was thinking a rugged PF who could play defense and maybe grow as a offensive player and a nice young court-general PG. Now that Isiah is town, I can see him drafting the player that will most help right now.

If you move Francis, you got Nate and Craw. Craw I think is still used best as a swingman PG/SG off the bench. Nate definately needs alot of development, and I think would best be used like Boykins first was maybe 15 minutes off the bench. Use Q at the 3, and if you want to go real small you can out Jamal there in short spurts.

PG & SG- 96 minutes total.
Marbury-35
Craw -25-30(some possibly at SF)
Roy -25-30
Nate -10-15

In that scenario you would have to move Rose too because he is not going to keep quiet riding the pine.

Rose and Q could split some time at SF, but personally I don't care what Rose thinks. He whines, send him home. He is not a part of this team's future and unless he can prove himself more worthy than Q, to me he really isn' part of this team's present. He is a FA at the end of the year. See ya'.

That's eveyrone's philosophy but in reality that doesn't always work. At the 1, 2 and 3 there are 144 minutes. We have Marbs, Francis, Rose, Q, Nate, Qyntel, David and Jamal vieing for minutes. Someone will be disappointed. Someone will be said to be the reason we lost. We need to trim the fat. Understand completely what you are saying about Jalen. But I just don't want that type of turmoil anymore. We don't need it. It's time ofr that stuff to end. We need to trade or buy out some guys because this mix has the ability to help us win or completely implode again. There simply aren't enough minutes.

Well, I think Zeke is gonna let Q2 walk. so that chops 1 guy off there. If by some stretch(yeah right) Butler can get his minutes at the 5 and it opens up minutes for lee at the 4...With Francis being moved (which he has to be IMO), you have 96 minutes between Marbs, Rose, Q, Jamal and Nate. Nate needs to develop slowly, like I said, no more than about 15 minutes a game in spurts-so we have 81 minutes at least for 4 guys and Q can get some minutes at SF.

Not really, Hilton Armstrong at 20(only teams we have to worry about is the kings/Wizards) and Marcus Vinicius/Thabo Sefolosha/Quincy Douby at 29(one of them will be there).

I see Isiah drafting another SG under 6-2 because marbury, francis, nate & crawford isn't enough

Don't expect a shot blocker....because shot blocking is over-rated.

I think we'll see the following:

C: Curry, Butler (possibly Boone as a 4/5 backup)
PF: Frye, Lee, M Rose (I see Taylor getting dealt, but Rose staying for the time being)
SF: Harrington a possibility? Marcus Vinicius, I think, a possibility. QWoods probably gone. J Rose off the bench. A lot of questions here.
SG: JCraw. Francis must be traded. I'd hope that Mardy Collins/Shannon Brown could be drafted & in the mix.
PG: Marbury should have his best year. The guy, if he's got pride (and I think he does), will see this as a major redemption opportunity.
