... to play like he played as a Champion Piston?

... to think before he speaks to the media?

... to hit the open man?

... to become freinds with the paint?

... to make an appearance at Summer League as a sign of dedication?

... to sacrifice a part of his ego for the good of the team?

... to play like he wants to die a Knick?

NOW it gets interesting

once a knick always a knick

one thing for sure, whenever Zeke has spoken to marbury (behind closed doors) he has responded. Olympics set record for US points in a game, this year in January, while it may have come out after the fact, marbury has always responded.

Some personalities don't respond well to constructive criticism.

Some players play better for player's coaches, others respond to father figures, it's why they are players, pawns on a team.

Listen, this is a new team now...Look at it as addition by subtraction..You will see this team leave it out there on the court...You will see Curry come to play...You will see Marbs play his arse off...Just because they have someone who supports them and want them to do well....You just watch....I'll put big money on this being the turning point in terms of effort and good play...

the real question is how does marbury recover after professing his "LOVE" for larry? he must be shellshocked by the "shocking" turn of events.

with steph trading jabs with him in the media and isiah remaining silent for the final two months of the season, i think steph knew the deal back in feb/mar.

If Marbury knows he has the opportunity for a year of basketball joy in New York, does he simply play like Starbury...

... or does he listen carefully to what Isiah expects of him?

That's the main question. Isiah will obviously be good for Marbs. I thought Lenny and LB would be good for him, but there is no doubt that Isiah is his biggest supporter. This is his chance to shut up all the doubters. He doesn't have to do that in terms of wins, just show some leadership and team play. Nobody cares about 20 and 8. Just be a team player and we will celebrate him and his effort. But if this guy proves the doubters right I can no longer defend him. At that point he will have made himself indefensiablelike. 30 years old, the jury is still out but this is truly the point of no return for marbs. If I hear him in the press I will personally go down and take care of him for Zeke, so Zeke doesn't have to get his hands dirty.

Bippity10 - well said. Marbury has GOT to recognize this as his BEST EVER opportunity for fame in his home town.

Stephon has no excuse for this not being hia most productive year from a team context. Forget the stats. Win some games and make the playoffs.

The coaching staff

IN

Herb Williams, George Glymph and Mark Aguirre

OUT

Phil Ford, Dave Hanners, Brendan O'Connor

what is your reasoning behind your statement?

After watching both Isiah and Stephon in their Knicks tenures over the years I have no reason to believe that they are gonna miraculously turn anything around. And trust me, turning around the Knicks will take a miracle.

Anyway, there's your new catch-phrase. "Knicks '06-'07: Miracles can happen."

Its not like Steph has never played well and its not like Isiah is a hack as a coach. Both have had some success in this league. Neither has gotten past the 1st rd. Perhaps over the next few years they can do that. I think with the talent we have and should be able to add this year, there should be a HUGE improvement over this last season.

SURE Isiah can inspire Steph, he was able to inspire his players in Indianna as that team was young when he took over and they improved each year he was there.

If Isiah really wanted to coach this team, he would have took over long before Brown was even hired. Now, am I really supposed to believe that a miracle turnaround will occur when Isiah, an OK coach at best, is forced to half-heartedly coach this team knowing 100% that his head is next to roll?

I like that teach the youth to have pointy elbows and rebound, that totally makes sense. By the way I just came back from getting a root canal
