If they are stringing along Brown because they are pissed about his season only to sack him before training camp its just more evidence of the obvious.

Chaney- escorted out of building before a game by security
Lenny- fired his assistant. Isiah traded players he had playing VERY well (Doleac/KVH) against the coach's recomendation. Pushed to quit
LB- went out of way to embarrass before canning

Good luck getting any coach with any cred to come in here ever again. Its hard to root for your organization when its like this.

Then you look at the players that have left, KT, TT, KVH, McDyess, Ariza, Deke, Shandon, Ward.. a lot of quality people if not great players and they all say thank god they are out of that organization.

I think you accidentally included TT .
I agree with your point in general but Larry Brownopoly gets no sympathy from me because of his insane rotations and PT

who says he should get sympathy? I dont feel sorry for him in the least. But the conduct of this management and ownership has 100% insured we will never attract a real coach again.

I sit on a trading desk so we have all these tvs with CNBC and they have Stern on regarding the thriving NBA, revenue up, etc.
Then they ask him if it hurts the NBA when a huge market like NY is mired in the way that they are with little reason to expect improvement. This is CNBC.. this isnt even a freakin sports network.

Hire larry and make promises. Don't make them and then retaliate because he talked too much truth and its percieved he lowered their value.

Guess what, most GMs know the deal with our players!

Dolan takes things personal. Isiah is trying to survive. Larry must go?

Larry gets multigenerational wealth for one year work. No sympathy, just shaking my head in wonder of the ingnorance of it all!

Since when did Tim Thomas become a model citizen?

Place the money in front of a quality coach and dare him to turn down the Knicks job.

fish - You REALLY think BIlly Donovan would turn down the Knicks?

and when the team doesn't win...the coach will get fired and the cycle will continue.

the problem here goes beyond the coach. i have no idea what the direction of the team is now but when was the last time a college coach made a successful transition to the pros? and will a guy like donovan, who set up a big time program in florida, leave it for 1-3 years of this mess?

I agree on college coaches for the most part but that's NOT the point. Fish declared that no "quality" coach would come to the Knicks.

The operative word being "quality"

The point being djsunyc - you really think Donovan (or anyone else looking for a J-O-B turns down a Knicks cash offer?

i agree, if the money's there, an available coach will take the job. but now, we're going to have to overspend for a coach too. and with that money, the expectation level increases and there's automatically an "X" on your back. that's the problem.

No one in their right mind would coach the Knicks. Which should prove that Larry Brown is in fact insane in the first place.

I think our only hope would be to bring in Jerry Colangelo to run the entire Knicks side of the Garden. Have him be the pres, hire a young GM and coach and go from there. Or we could sit around and pray the Dolan sells the team to fund his next album.

djsunyc - that's exactly WHY NYC coaches get the big bucks. The "X" comes with the territory, no matter what the sport is.. That is no mystery.

quality NBA coach. How did Pitino and Calipari fair in the NBA? Hell.. there's always Herb, or Ewing. Patrick would be perfect. We could bring back a celebrated warrior then tarnish him forever by sticking him with this management.

These are the people calling the shots and determining the direction of this team. Great.

Limbo Larry feelin' 'humiliated'

Isiah & Knicks remain silent

BY FRANK ISOLA
DAILY NEWS SPORTS WRITER

ORLANDO - Isiah Thomas and Larry Brown were doing a lot of talking yesterday with everyone except the media and each other.

Thomas, the Knicks president, continues to give Brown the silent treatment as the NBA's longest-running soap opera drags on. A person close to Brown says that the Hall of Fame head coach "feels humiliated" by the fact that the club requested his presence at the NBA pre-draft camp without clarifying his job status.

Brown is expected to be removed as head coach at some point between now and the start of training camp with Thomas replacing him on the sidelines. Brown's coaching friends have spent the past two days asking the Hall of Famer about his future, but Brown has no answers and the Knicks aren't talking.

Brown apologized to reporters for not talking, but his older brother, Herb, did speak out about the bizarre circumstances at Madison Square Garden. Calling his brother a great coach, Herb Brown said: "I know that if people let him do his job he's going to do a great job."

"There is no doubt in my mind that if he's permitted to do his job, he will succeed in doing what they hired him to do in the first place," said Brown, an assistant with the Atlanta Hawks. "And he will turn the fortunes of the franchise around."

Larry Brown and Thomas haven't been on speaking terms for weeks. Thomas and Garden chairman James Dolan are blaming Brown for the team's 23-59 record and are upset that he publicly criticized the players. A source close to Brown says that the coach feels somewhat betrayed by Thomas for turning his back on him, since it was Brown who reached out to Thomas three years ago when Larry Bird fired Thomas as Pacers head coach. But the animosity between the club and Brown is growing. Brown's three assistant coaches - Phil Ford, Dave Hammers and Brendan O'Connor - were not asked by the Knicks to watch the workouts at Disney's Wide World of Sports. The three coaches, who are expected to be fired once Brown is let go, are missing an opportunity to network for another job.

The Knicks brought along their scouting staff plus one public-relations official and one front office assistant while Herb Williams was the only assistant coach invited here.

Williams sat next to Brown - who arrived about an hour early - during yesterday's workouts. Thomas, seated several hundred feet from Brown, spent much of the morning session talking to Darrell Walker, whom he once hired as Toronto Raptors head coach.

Brown may return to New York today. He is not expected to meet with Thomas anytime in the near future, and when asked yesterday if he had spoken to Thomas, Brown replied: "I didn't look for him."

imo, we already brought him in, & Dolan's about to run him out of town after 1 year... any reasonable fan of a sport can't expect complete turnaround after years of turmoil & crappy play from any head coach until the entire culture of losing is expelled & eliminated... imo, LB was trying to do that in his own way, but he's not going to be given the chance to follow through on it, & to me that's a damn shame... this franchise deserves every bad thing that happens to it because of this assbackwards type of thinking.

the only solution is for Dolan to sell. I think IT and LB would be fine if given the right ownership.

It really is a shame how badly the guy has taken this team down.

two big questions going into the season were:

a) can Isiah share power
b) is marbury coachable

now that these questions have been answered with a resounding negative, letting isiah coach is really the only option. coincidence? and in spite of it he's reportedly reluctant to coach because it might jeopardize HIS job security?

isaih, go get therapy. and in the meanwhile, isn't there another league or franchise you can destroy?

isiah, go away.
