I was watching this documentary on him last night on MSG. I missed the first couple minutes but saw all the JVG stuff, the trade, the Cuttino Mobley "issues" and let me just say this guy is so delusional its not even funny.

Four years as a Rocket he doesnt make the playoffs. Then JVG arrives and these were direct quotes from his mouth:
"for 4 years fans came into this building to see me play. I put people here"
"I built this arena"
"I was an all star averaging 21 points. Then coach comes in and I'm averaging 16 points. Let me tell you, there's nothing wrong with me. I dont get post ups like I did, I cant shoot the transition 3 like I did. Its hurt my game and the numbers show that."
(FYI: Yao Ming got there and this was the ONLY year he made the playoffs)

On Cuttino Mobley:
Moochie Norris: "It was distracting... we would be in practice and they would be doing their own thing, laughing and goofing off. It was distracting."
JVG: "They were too close. They needed to be separated to be better players. It wasnt a positive relationship in a basketball sense."
Francis: "He was my friend. I mean, if I cant be comfortable with my friend at work than why should I work? Thats not a place I want to be."

All I can say is HOLY CRAP. This guy is like the Rickey Henderson of the NBA, only without the winning.

What a freakin mental case. Another great job by our GM.

Anyone see this program?

I know I read a magazine, I forgot which one. About the relationship of Mobley and Francis. They were saying how those 2 were so close that others were questioning there sexuality. I didn't really get into it, but it was one of the quotes on the side.

I got a trade Idea I just thought of i'll put it in another thread though.

ESPN Insider magazine did a big centerfold write-up about this over the winter. They're very close.. Too damn close, if you ask me LOL.

I don't care if he is too dam close to his hairdresser! As long as he does his job.

Funny, him and Marbury are very similar.

Maybe Isiah has a thing about converting gay men, or similarly malcontent basketball players.

Why we keep bringing in these guys?

It's almost laughable the group of players that have been assembled on this team. I don't think there has ever been a worse attempt at trying to mesh players in the history of sports.

it's a crap shoot... you would think the players that Joe Dumars assembled in Detroit wouldn't seem as the perfect "team" on paper, but it worked out nicely over there... figures our mishmosh would end up being the biggest disaster of alltime for this franchise.

the biggest factor IMO is they were properly coached, & they were ALLOWED to gel... our team is always in such flux & turmoil w/roster moves left & right & new coaches coming & going, these guys can never have a chance to gel that way.

Yeah and oh btw, traded for freaking Rasheed Wallace at the point when they were playing below expectations. But hey don't let facts get in your way.

please don't try to discredit lb's accomplishments. jerry sloan NEVER won a title as a coach, he's still one of the greatest. and riley NEVER won without magic, kareem and worthy.

not everyone can incorporate a malcontent like sheed and make it work. lb was able to.

you can blame all you want on this season but lb is still a GREAT coach and has proven that throughout his entire history. and if you feel lb was the main culprit this year, then it's a blip on the radar.

they were a finished product as much as any other 50 game winning team is... does Pat Riley get any credit for taking the Heat to the next level if his team ends up winning the NBA championship this year, or is that still SVG's team as far as coaching is concerned? (i'm not talking about Riley's role in putting the team together)... why is it that LB can't get any credit for taking the Pistons to the championship & w/in 1 game of another in some of your eyes? i don't get that at all... the crappy job he did this year has no bearing on the championship resume he came here with... if anything, that resume should entitle him to a pass for 1 bad season... funny that guys like Marbury & Isiah (as an executive) who have ZERO history of success in the NBA, get a pass for 3 straight years of underachievement, while LB gets lambasted for 1.

TMS the difference with Pat is the roster overhaul that occurred with Walker, Posey, Williams, Payton. Those are the guys that are producing in these playoffs.
