USA Today - According to a report in USA Today, in-limbo Knicks coach Larry Brown took full advantage of reporters waiting a block away from the practice facility, finally giving the hall of famer a chance to speak his mind.

"I'm not supposed to be talking," Brown said after getting out of the car. "I feel like a dead man walking."

Reports of a potential buyout surfaced two weeks ago, but Brown said Tuesday that nobody from the organization has come forward to deny such a possibility exists.

"You hear anybody deny the story?" Brown asked. "I haven't met with anybody. I work the kids out. I don't know what they've done in the past with the coach. Have they always had police escorts? I really don't have any explanation of what's going on. I do my job. I love this part of it. I'll come back tomorrow and do it again."

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

That's just so unreal... They're so scared he'll talk to reporters, they have five-0 escorting Brown through the complex gates LMFAO!

I'm so glad the playoffs have been this interesting, otherwise teams would be laughing even louder. I find it harder by the day, to understand why anyone would want to play here. Under these circumstances, what a flippin' joke!

He just couldn't resist could he? LB is such a freakin drama queen. Yeah we know its a tough situation, but really he's gonna be MORE THAN OK, when he leaves. He just wants people to feel sympathy for him as this mistreated and tortured soul. I'm sure when he gets back to his million dollars spread and jumps in his boat, he's not thinking about the bad treatment the Knicks are giving him.

I like the Patrick Ewing juice card he tried to pull a few days back...Thinking that NYC would back him now if he brings in Patrick...

Thats a joke right? No one deserves to be treated like this. This isn't the first time Dolan treated a coach like this either (and Isiah). The way they handled the firing of Don Chaney and this situation is miserable. Pretty soon, no one will want to have anything to do with the Knicks.

Obviously if LB walks away with that he's not making out badly but why must Dolan keep treating his coaches like this? I mean comeon!

So not only are they misshandling the situation, but they are being fiscally irresponsible. Does that justify dragging this team through the mud while Jim Dolan and the sure shot plays with his band?

In the same sense... I didn't see you complain when the players quit on the fans this year.

Cat fight!

This whole popularity contest has been fabricated by MSG and is very upprofessional.

Leaking the buy out while Larry is in surgury? Then testing him to Silence? Very unprofessional!

Isiah not saying a word about who is coaching? very unprofessional!

We have Cops running off the media? Larry with a gag order? The team is a joke!

And then Marbury pleadging his desire to "die a knick" makes for greater drama!

This is all so very uncool it reeks.

Maybe Dolan is just playing the field, seeing what coaches are available to hire. You know, kind of like LB did last year when he was still coaching the Pistons and was talking to the Cavs and probably the Knicks and others. What goes around comes around.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

"uncool" describes the whole situation quite well. I can't see "cool" and "knicks" being together in the same universe anytime soon.

I don't think anybody took that serious. Just more of Brown grandstanding. The guy needs personal assurances everytime there is a report out there. When Marbury called Brown insecure, everyone was shocked. Not that it wasn't true but that he said it. That's sad. He said he is doing his job not knowing his fate. Hey Larry welcome to the real world. It would be nice to get reassurance after every rumor or bad feeling you get from your bosses but it just doesn't happen. Hey do what I do, just tell them "I see you tomorrow" or if you are fishing make it sound like a question. "See you tomorrow?" Who knows, maybe they will slip up and spill the beans.

Bro, you used the words Larry Brown, pulling, Patrick Ewing, and juice all in the same sentence. Makes me feel icky.

if you were in the office and a piece of news came back to you that you may get fired, what's the first thing you do? you go to your boss and ask him if that's true. he'll tell you yes or no or lie to your face but you can get a response. now suppose you kept trying to contact your boss but he/she wouldn't return your calls. then how would you react? would you need reassurance? or are you ok not hearing from anybody and going about your business?

lb has NOTHING to lose. he gets his money regardless. just like players that show up fat or guys that quit on the court. they get paid regardless. so he says whatever he wants. and he's somewhat forcing the team to either say he's the coach or he's fired. it doesn't matter to him b/c he gets his paycheck regardless.
