There's no going back.

We're not gonna be under the cap to get Melo or LBJ.

We wont have any lottery picks for ATLEAST 2 years.

So basically we're a lottery team without cap space or lotto picks.

FYI, THATS A BAD PLACE TO BE.

Dolan wont sell the team. Isiah aint going nowhere.

We're basically going all in on the river with Eddy Curry.

He HAS to show up next season. He basically has to be a 20 and 10 player, or close to it.

Otherwise we are SOOOO screwed.

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Waaaaaahhhhh!

The sky is falling.... RUN for your lives!!!!!

>>(Curry) has to be a 20 and 10 player, or close to it.

bobs - No, my panicking amigo - Lamarcus Aldridge, Adam Morrison or Tyrus Thomas HAS to be a 20 and 10 player, or close to it, or all the gnashing of teeth over the number one pick was a waste of time.

Get off Eddy Curry's case, the young man will be just fine - once he confirms solid trust in his heart condition over the Summer, works on his recognition AND his coach decides to involve him in the offense on a regular basis.

>>Otherwise we are SOOOO screwed.

okayfine. We are screwed. Now go play ball.

Curry went 13 and 6 with Brown's musical chairs lineups.

Is it difficult to grasp that with some consistency Currys individual numbers would improve?

Or is it difficult to grasp that players (teams) benefit from consistent rhythm?

Work with me - no, do me a favor - add just 5 points and 2 rebounds to Currys numbers. Now consider the FACT he can improve with the talented (and no longer a rookie) Frye playing beside him. Visulaize David Lee with a physique closer to what he brought as a Freshman at Florida.

Feel better yet?

Cutting down on the unforced turnovers would be the best area he could improve. Since, this would/should impact his rebounding and shotblocking numbers.. Scoring is nice, but being a defensive presence would be HUGE!

bobs3304 - I simply prefer Kool-Ade to Haterade

The entire Knicks team should attend Summer League with Eddy Curry. A noble gesture by the young man don't you think?

^ I agree about Curry's decision to hit up summer camp.

But bottom line, Kool-Aid or not ---- Curry needs to bring the goods next season.

Bob, to save what should have been a great thread, I totally agree with you.

We paid A LOT to get Curry, it's his job to get in shape with the willingness to improve his game, and if he can't, then he just doesn't deserve to be on this team.

First things first, get into shape...

Read some books so he can turn smarter... I know it sounds silly, but he's not smart on the court at all, might as well get smarter off it, so maybe it has a chance to translate on it.

I am not that concern about Curry to be honest. I think rebounding will come. Hell as far as being smart, look at Shaq. The guy has 3 championship rings, 3 Final MVP rings and 1 MVP ring and still at the age of 34 picks up some of the most dumbest fouls and commits some of worst turnovers. That is the life of a big man in the league.

Be able to quote Shakespear wont help him be able to turn over his right shoulder (for a lefty finish), which is something he refused to do all season long.......He needs to eat, sleep and drink basketball all summer long....Not only playing, but watching video...and getting a better understanding of how to handle certian situations in the post......Learning how to anticipate and mentally be play ahead......I know it sounds like a lot but he's only 23 (or is it 24)....

believe it or not I'm with Pharzone, while I would MUCH rather have our pick this year and next and even Sweetney in the fold Curry's downside is what he did this year, 15/6 and shooting over 55% in 28-32 minutes or so. Not the end of the world. But if we are going to make a Curry/Frye front court of the future work we need at least 2 dirty work guys in there to get things done. My vote would be for Reggie Evans and Theo Ratliff. If I could trade QRich and Malik for Ratliff that would create a roster space, then sign Reggie to the MLE and your frontcourt looks like
Curry/Ratliff
Frye/Reggie

Nice mix IMO. Ratliff only needs to be a 15-18 minute a night guy, and Reggie can get 10 boards a night in 20 minutes and doesnt need to take shots.

No, but it would be damn funny to see Curry recite lines from MacBeth. Such as on a bad call he got, maybe Curry can say something like "Fair is foul, and foul is fair." Could impress some of these officials alot maybe.

take it out even further... try to package Francis and both our picks with cash (of course) for the Hawks pick and you have a shot at a guy like Ronnie Brewer or even Gay if he slips a bit. There should be some good wing players there.

Even better is if we can do that we get a trade exception as we dont take a player back from the Hawks (only a pick). This would let us outright release Mo T and Jalen Rose as they dont fit, and still leave us with a big trade exception we could use at the deadline if it so suits us.
