I didn't know he had recruiting violations at Kansas. He admitted he gave Vincent Askew $1000 for a plane ticket ( yeah right ) to visit his sick mother. LB then quit the program and went to coach the Spurs, while leaving Kansas on the hook for NCAA violations. ( surprise surprise ). LB only had 2 teams that went deep in the NCAA tourney ( kansas ).
While with the Spurs, Clippers & Pacers they never made it out of the first round.

Dan Issle stated: " Everytime LB felt a player was not at his best, he wanted to trade him and when Denver management refused, he quit !!

Stan Albeck states: " While with the Spurs, David Robinson was always humble and hard working and nobody picked at him. Well, LB for no reason at all would constantly pick at Robinson claiming he had attitude problems and wanted to trade Robinson, needless to say management again refused so LB quit

My point is that he has a history of attacking his players and management not tollerating it

that is his history. So if you can't deal with it don't hire him. We hired him so guess what, let the man do his job. He has won, so who cares about his methods. If you don't like his methods hire someone else. Sooner or later we have to hire someone and let them do their thing. Sooner or later.

The funniest part of this saga is Joe Glass. I guess this is how he earns his money. Quote from Brown last year.

"My thing has never changed. I want to coach Detroit, and I expressed that to them," Brown said of his meeting Wednesday in suburban Detroit with Davidson, team president Joe Dumars and Brown's agent, Joe Glass. "Now Mr. D and Joe just have to talk to Mr. Glass and decide what they want to do.

For a guy who claims he is not a Larry lover, you sure know how to find your way around this board defending him at every turn......

Everytime someone on this board retraces Browns Footsteps and bring to the light, all of the wrekage and debirs (in the form of Players character's, and management alike) that he left in his rareview mirror, Instead of trying to defend Brown, these LB lovers perfer to
pick at Isiah and Marbury's character, I guess to make them look worse.

That just shows me that LB's antics are impossible to defend.....

^ LB is hard/horrid on his players and uses the media too much. The thing that separates him with Isiah/Marbury IS his track record of sucess. Hey, when the ends justify the mean...

holfresh, what escapes you bigbeast and some others is we arent defending Larry Brown, we are criticizing management. Larry Brown's patterns are obvious and well documented. He's doing what he's done at every stop in the NBA. So why is management suprised? If you want the quiet good soldier you hired the wrong guy. Everyone knows LB's mouth is a problem. Everyone knows he wants guys traded every week. Everyone knows he's murder on his point guards. Everyone knows he will openly feud with players. Everyone knows his ways. So if you dont like those ways or arent prepared to deal with them dont freakin hire him. This is more Isiah idiocy.

Personally, I find myself constantly defending him because guys around here think he's the problem. It irks me. Isiah and the players he brought in are the problem. They were the problem before Larry got here. Ask Lenny what it was like working for them. As Don Chaney. Herb's probably happy to have a job.

I think management knew what they were getting but I don't think management counted on Larry planning a coup...I don't think they knew Larry would not have a set rotation or would have coached this team to 23 wins...Now he wants to add more payroll and get players that may not be attractive at the gates...Thats a sin at camp cablevision...Listen, Larry is not building for the future, he wants to win now...He doesn't like the young players...Honestly, fish, whats the attraction?

You're correct. They wanted a coach to come in and toe the company line. A company line that has averaged 35 wins for 7 years now. But a great coach was not going to do that. YOu think a Parcell's type would come in and sit tight and stay the course. Of course not. This organization was a mess long before LB got here. LB knew this. Everyone who wasn't blind and dreaming of being Phoenix East knew this. LB's job was to change this direction and go in a new one. OF COURSE HE WAS GOING TO STAGE A COUP. It has to be done. Unfortunately for you and me, Dolan and Zeke won't let this happen because it exposes them. Our coach and GM are always going to be at odds because this is the atmosphere that we as an organization have created. This my friend is why your team stinks!!!

Everyone on the planet knows the best thing for this organization to do is tear it down. Stick with the young guys and gut the team. We all know this and say we would be patient and build with this. But when the coach wants to do exactly that we cry about this "unauthorized coup"
