I'm curious what guys on this site think - if you could have your choice of any coach you're aware of, which coach do you think would be the best fit for this team?

Could be a current or former NBA coach, college coach, Bippity, etc. I miss JVG, but I don't think he'd fit well with this current group. I don't know the answer, but I definitely think it should be someone younger.

If we stick with this roster, Adelman is the perfect coach...doesn't try to coach defense. Better than average offensive coach who likes to run. Only problem I have with him is his teams never get over the hump.

MY first choice is Stan Van Gundy.

at this point, it doesn't matter. i think we need to resolve the gm situation and the coaching situation and be committed to it. if it's still this air in instability with isiah, then it doesn't matter who gets hired, b/c he will fail.

Yeah, I know. It's a hypothetical question.

A hypothetical question is one asked out of interest, as the answer will have no effect on the situation.

i don't think there's anyone on this Earth that can coach this team... so mine as well let the architect of this mismatch hodgepodge of talent try his luck i say.

Adelman. Look at the way the offense runs in Sacramento with guys Webber, Miller, Vlade etc. Take a high basketball IQ, high post player like Frye and I think that would be a great fit. Lee would work well in that kind of offense as well. Play Craw in Bibby role and Nate in the Bobby Jax role. We'd need to add some shooters but I think this would be the best fit for our offensive pieces.

Or maybe I'm biased and just love the way Sactown ran that Princeton O. Who knows. But Adelman has a great winning % over a lot of seasons now and never gets any press for it.

Adelman or Paul Westphal. Or Paul Westhead. Wasn't he the guy with Loyola Marymount years back? He makes Mike D'Antoni's offense look like slow down.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

Looks like we might have to buy him out from a WNBA contract. He has won an NBA championship, just like Larry Brown.

Adelman.

My mistake....by hump I mean 2nd round of the playoffs. He made the Finals once in 8 years and every other year he was out by the 2nd round.

Give Adelman another 10 years, Brown proved it takes a bit. It took him 26 years to reach his first NBA final game.

He could have reached the finals much earlier, but he wanted to do it "the right way".
