I would say Kobe/Odom is more to work with than what Larry had, yes.
Larry sucked last year. Bad job. His history shows two things. One is that he's able to turn records around. The other is he's able to have great basketball relationships with players he initially had great dificulty with. Nobody is saying to trade Frye for Tony Battie or Ratliff, but go get Brown a couple of role players he wants and dump some of the mistakes like Mo T and Jalen Rose. If it means buy out or waive then so be it.
Then if your Isiah tell Marbury that the first step in being a leader will be doing exactly what the coach asks on the court and in practice.
Dumping LB is premature, 25+ years of history says so. Nobody's saying he's done a good job. Nobody
okay, I agree.
but there is another part of Brown's history that has been proven again and again over 25 years - he tries to get too much control of the roster and usually gets fired in the process. Happened in Detroit when he tried to get Dumars to trade Billups AFTER the championship. Happened in Indiana. Happened in LAC, NJN and SAS.
I don't know how anyone can deny his "acid reflux" incident was yet another power play now that he's said he "just had the flu."
