Sounds like Steph Infection for West!

Not that it ever came down to this, but earlier in the day Memphis’ Jerry West called out his players for failing to come through in crunch time: “Late in a game, we need somebody to go to who can score a basket,” West told a Dallas newspaper. “That’s the one thing we need desperately. You need someone who has the skill and has the nerve to make plays and make shots late in a game. Those are areas we need to address.”

Nah, he's talking about in the playoffs, not in meaningless games at the end of a lottery season.

mike james is a viable option for anybody that would be interested in marbury and francis. cheaper, probably 3 year deal around $7-8 a year. and without the headache or drama.

denver and ny are star crossed lovers. they have kmart. we have steph or francis. it's like isiah called up karl and started babbling away and karl responded "shutup...just shutup...you had me at hello..."

Steph I think would do well on a team like Detroit. The hierarchy is already in place. This providing he really buys into it.

BUt any position where he is given the responsability to lead is not good. I don't see Pau as being strong enough to slap Marbury down.

Steph needs some hardcore pipe smoking mofos to get mid-evil on his ass. (Pulp fiction)

how would steph ever get to Detroit? Why would they take his salary anyway? Flip does love steph though... only way i can see steph in mo-town is if the knicks cut steph and he signs in detroit for the vets minimum and agrees to play 15-20 minutes a game as a backup

Memphis has no cap room and Toronto wants to sign him and would not facilitate a S&T.

I think Memphis, Denver and Minnesota will all be very interested in either Marbury or Francis.

Colangelo also has stated he wants a veteran 2 and Memphis has one in the last year of his contract in Eddie Jones.

Jones for James and Alvin Williams clears 7 mill for the year they extend Bosh

Yeah, but Bosh has stated he wants to keep Mike James. So, they lose James, maybe they don't need to worry about extending Bosh.

I think West might be willing to take a risk on Marbury or Francis. Like I said in an earlier thread, Memphis is going nowhere with their current collection of talent. They aren't going to get past the first round without some more firepower to take some pressure off Gasol and create shots for Mike Miller.

West may think he can get through to Marbury/Francis where others have failed, what with being the Logo and all.

Statbury to Memphis for Eddie Jones, Warrick and a future 1st rounder would be ideal.

please, there's no way they're throwing in Warrick. we'd be lucky to get Eddie Jones and his expiring deal.

I actually think Steph and Melo would be a fantastic pairing.

I think something like Steph and Mo Taylor for Andre Miller and Kenyon makes sense for both. I'm sure Larry would like Dre running the point here.

I'm just amazed at how the playoffs exposes the heart of players...Melo has lost a few nothces on his belt in my eyes...Dre is horrible by the way...At least he won't be bad in the locker room, on the court is another issue...

to melo's defense, all the clippers had to do was zero in on him since he had pretty much zero help offensively. he's not one of the lebron or wade types that can go one on one. he's more of a post up guy or somebody the ball needs to be delivered to. another player and he'll have more space to do stuff.

wade is the guy that needs to step it up. hinrich has made it very difficult for him.

i think dre is OK. he's move the ball around and he can hit a jumper here and there. he could take on more of a chauncey type role...but he's a better passer.
