and josh smith is on his way to superstardom. forget al harrington, target this guy.

An injury prone long term contract PF exactly what we need. I'm an idiot for not agreeing with you. LOL.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

every trade we should make should for the most part be guided by the principal of not adding longer contracts/more money than the ones we trade away.

I'm fine with Boozer if somehow Francis or Marbury are headed out.

I'm all for Boozer. He's good. F.uck Eddie Curry, maybe the Knicks can ship his fat ass out and build around Frye and Boozer in the front court.

oohah

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Boozer's great if you don't mind the fact that he's not a team player, is a scoundrel for how he left the Cavs, makes the news because he's fueding with Prince (not Tayshaun), is injury prone and doesn't play defense.

Take all that out and he's pretty good, I guess.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Agree 100%. I wouldnt give up Frye but I would give up an awfull lot. Hell... I would JUMP at the chance to give up Francis and both #1s for Josh Smith. We dont need Francis and Smith for the picks is a steal. The Hawks need PGs and centers. Marbury, Francis, Curry and picks are all options I would trade for Smith. Hawks have max cap space those deals are fiscal options, if not logical ones.

As for Boozer... DJ, oohah, what are you thinking? Since he got paid he's always hurt and soft when he's on the court. Isnt this more of the same? You guys know something I dont?

I like josh, but not as much as some of you guys, I rather see if childress is available. High IQ player, good on the ball defender, good finisher....I think he would be more available, and the better player down the road..

so let's see:

idiots: simrud, solace, fishmike
not idiots: franco, crzy, oohah

hey, don't be mad at me, it's the rules.

boozer's only issue with me is his health. but the guy is good. perfect dirty work player that plays within his skillset, gets offensive boards, makes putbacks and cleans up the glass. to tell you the truth, i am pretty surprised so many people are down on him. i understand the whole lying to a blind man thing and jumping ship - it was shady, but man, he was great with lebron, and when healthy (key phrase) has put up really solid #'s with utah as well. he's only 24, lb loved him in the olympics and is willing to be a souped up role player.

tfk comon are you still not on the josh smith bandwagon.....

he gets rebounds assists, and is one of the best shotblockers in the nba, has a strong build, hes young and needs to be taught and his jumper is improving (28, 7, 7, and three the other night when was the last time Knick did something like that) Over his last nine, 18pts 8rbs 4.3ass and 3.6blks

Had ISIAH who i hope rots in hell not made the Magic into a powerhouse and gave the Bulls everything they need to be better than us, we would not be having any discussions because then our number one asset Frye could be a nice trade piece to get rid of Marbury, now we are stuck with Francis, and Crawford who is some how a fan favorite

Save all the money and blow the next 2 years and then get Lebron in 2008. I will wait and be a disgrace of an organization for 2 more years.
I want to leave something that's going to stand for a long timeI want to leave a legacy,I want to leave tradition.I want to leave an imprint,a blueprint in terms of how people play, and how they coach and how they respond when they put on the Knick uni.

All of that is nice, but I watch this kid a lot, he is a great athlete, and his numbers can look great some games, but I see a kid who gets beat a lot on defense, he has fallen in love with the outside shot and he is not a good shooter, he can't take anyone off the dribble at all, I think he is another tweener, an above average shot blocker and superb finisher, but I rather have childress, a much better defender, passer and shooter, just a better overall game...

Jefferies would be a great MLE pickup for us. Long atheletic, plays hard, good fundamentals... could really blossom

Yes! Childress is a very good player. If anybody...Childress is an expendable player in atlanta cuz they not trading Josh Smith, or Marvin williams.

I was thinking about trading Nate....but Nate would go to Atlanta and go on to average 20pts per game for his career probably. Maybe Childress for some draft picks.

ya know, I know we overrate our own rookies all the time and I know Josh Smith is FAAAR more atheletic than him, but I really feel like David Lee is a better basketball player than Josh Smith.

If we trade Dlee or Nate this off-season, that might be all she wrote for me.

I think we should look at childress as well because smith is not moving; atlanta is in business they just need to look around to see if they can get anything for harrinton perhaps a pick, if not they let him go, draft aldridge let him get his bumps at the center position or they could get crazy and look to move, childress, a pick and perharps harrinton for a big time player.....

I would rather the Knicks gamble on Jason Williams instead of signing a mike james or someone like that and maybe look into Nene, since most young player are off the board......

Really not in a great position and it kills that channing didn't get more time at the end of the season

maybe Atlanta likes Q woods? throw in Q woods and a pick, for childress. Leave Al Harrington alone, no more big money guys. I say give Jay williams a try..

You can have a lineup of:

Jay williams
Crawford
Childress
Frye
Butler or curry..

Bench:
Nate
lee
butler or curry
Draft pick..
Q rich

As mentioned and maybe I am overrating lee, I just like lee's game more than josh smith.... go ahead and bash, but this is how I feel..

Hey Fish,

I'm not certain how Boozer's contract relates to his injuries. He's had some injury problems, but those are fairly recent, not the chronic injuries that some seem to recall.

Injuries are unpredictable. Look at Kurt Thomas!

As far as Boozer being soft, I couldn't disagree more. He gets rebounds, he mixes it up around the basket and he shoots a good percentage. He has been top notch since he came back this year.

I'll take Boozer over Curry any day.

Carlos Boozer
