francis to lala for kwame + mihm

we then buy out jerome...and he signs with the lakers.

why?

the optimal deal would be francis for eddie jones but in the event that can't happen, mihm is a serviceable backup center who plays hard and kwame is only 22. he's a bum. but if we're willing to take a chance on eddy, then why not kwame as well who is in better shape and stronger. if curry can get all those dunks, so can kwame and kwame is a better rebounder and defender. more importantly, mihm becomes a free agent after next season and kwame has a team option after next year, so we take back LESS years. which means if we can move steph in a salary dump, we have a shot...a slight shot at getting near/under the cap in 08.

Francis to LAL > Odom + Mihm to HOU > McGrady to NYK works under the cap. Shame it probably wouldn't work anywhere other than the RealGM trade checker.

I don't think Isiah got Francis (and Larry begged him to do so) just to pull off a subsequent "addition by subtraction" trade.

If mihm is going into the last year of his contract the dealing Francis makes sense for the knicks. The lakers would do it. Sure smush has probably earned his spot but he doesn't have the excitement that a Steve Francis brings to the fan base.

So send Francis to la la and marbs to Memphis. Sounds like a plan.....that's even if brown comes back!

someone show me somewhere where Larry said he wanted Francis.

Begged? Please... when asked about Francis LB said pleasant things. That of course was before he actually had to coach him.

Gross. There's no way in the world I want Kwame taking minutes from Jackie, Frye and Lee. Kwame is a horrible turd of a player. No thanks. The Lakers can keep that mistake.

We're stuck with Curry, stuck with James. I think Francis is actually a good fit for this team so long as Brown makes his role clear to him and realizes the goal is to win games. Francis can pout if he's not happy, but if he knows he's playing to win he's a good team player.

Fish, LB definitely said that he gave Isiah a list of players to pursue at the deadline and Francis was high on the list. He could have been spinning, but so long as Crawford is playing PG for Brown, I think he will be okay with Francis playing a combo/SG role. I don't think Francis is as obsessed as Marbury is with being considered a PG. Also, Marbury is obsessed with his assist numbers and Brown's offense doesn't really allow for a PG with a high assist total, he wants an iniator who starts ball movement.

I didn't save the article, but he said himself that he "begged" Isiah to get Steve. That was Larry's own word. Of course you're gonna say positive things about a new player, but I don't I've ever heard *that* strong an endorsement from a coach.

Here's one article where he "bugged" Isiah to get Steve as soon as he learned Francis was available. I could have sworn he also said he "begged" Isiah to get Steve but maybe he only bugged, not begged, Isiah.
Brown took credit for spurring the Francis deal..."I bugged Isiah when I saw [Francis'] name," Brown said.

so? show me Jackie Butler's last 15 games. I've seen Kwame play plenty. I don't want any part of him.

I'd take Kwame over Eddy and Jackie over James everyday of the week

I'd rather have neither Kwame nor Curry. they are two of the lowest bball IQ guys I've ever seen. they'll never win anything in this league.

I thought getting Francis was good because other teams wanted him at the deadline and thus, surely he must have value.

I think he's been exposed- he hasn't done anything to reclaim value, but he has, in a short time, given credence to the belief that he is over paid and over rated.

And a turn over machine.

We'd be lucky to move francis over the summer for anything more than outright garbage.

Francis is worth keeping. I agree his value is pretty much shot. I think Brown can work with him. Craw, Francis, Nate, Qrich. I think that's a really solid backcourt for next season.

How many mpg is that? Who has the better stats in the last 15 games (Kwame or Jackie) if you equate the minutes?

I'll equate that right after I equate for the pressure Kwame is facing to perform in the midst of a play-off race in the 2nd biggest markt playing for a legendary coach and probably thee most competitive demanding superstar player whom everything about whether in practice or on the court has to remind him of the legendary guard who was instrumental in initially drafting him and subsequently ripping every shred of confidence he had away.

francis can't shoot, is a turnover machine and is slack on defense, that is why I say, the grass is always greener on the other side. If you really watched francis play, and not just against the knicks where everyone plays well, you would have seen that francis, has no jumper and pounds the ball to oblivion...

Francis & a pick for Odom... we don't want or need Kwame now that we have Curry & Frye.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.
