I mean did anyone even watch the game? nate was pathetic, his body language was bad, he passed up open shots, I mean it looked like marbury in Orlando earlier this year. Walt Frazier or kenny smith, I forgot commented that it is also selfish to pass up open shots. Nate to me, took LB's criticism and acted like a little child and not a professional. Is this the type of player we want fellas?

he did what steph did in orlando.

but nate hasn't been in the league 10 years. it's all on him to grow up and act professional. he will either learn from this is he will be in denial. it's up to him regardless if he's here or not.

Obviously it's all LB's fault.

If it's not evident to everyone yet then I don't know when it ever will be. The players that need to be brought in here this offseason are character players who are about whats best for the team before whats best for themself. Guys like Steph, Stevie, Nate all need to go becuase they will NEVER make it on this team if they can't scale back on their games to make the rest of the team better. EVER.

Yeah, and that makes you wonder why the heck do you bring in Franchise in the first place? Can Isiah be fired ASAP?

I don't know if he quit or not, obviously LB's comments affected (hurt) him and I agreed with LB's comments.....what I don't like is that LB keeps bashing these guys in the media. Why not take a player and privately talk to them? Yes it's LB's fault, he just made another one of his few hustle guys not want to play. Nate's a kid, he has a lot of maturing to do and part of a coaches job is to help players along, not embarrass them.......and no one can guard Iverson when he want's to go off!!

So we have Steph sabotaging the team by not being aggressive enough at times; last night apparently Nate was deemed to do the same; Crawford for long stretches this season did nothing but dribble the ball up court and pass it off passively to someone else; and Francis, who's looked just terrible as a Knick, is saying to the press that he needs to get his "swagger" back.

So all of our point guards are collectively attempting to sabotage the system, obviously. Or maybe Larry Brown, famously hard on his point guards, has something to do with each and every instance of our points playing like zombies at various parts of the season.

This is not all Larry Brown's mess, but it's clear as day to me that a lot of our PG troubles are due to an incompatibility between the coach and the players. That is not necessarily an indictment on either the players or the coach. Maybe it's just a bad match through and through for two different parties who both have their respective strengths and weaknesses. But whatever it is, I don't think you can pin this on the players only and say they're "quitting" or trying to subvert the team, anymore than you can say Larry Brown is "quitting" and trying to subvert the team.

The fact that this has happened with *every* point guard on our roster, though, strongly indicates that Larry Brown very much has had a hand in our various episodes of PG malaise throughout the season. It's too simple minded to claim that it's all Brown's fault, or it's all the players' fault.

It's hard to judge Nate since it's his rookie season, but Steph and Francis both have scaled back their games considerably for Larry Brown this season. Of course, in the end that probably wound up making the team worse rather than better. Neither Brown nor his players should escape criticism for this, as they have each had a big hand in this terrible season.

Sabatoge the team? I wouldn't care if Nate ran towards the Wizards basket and dunked the ball, he is not to blame for this team stinking or losing the game for that matter!. This team stinks all the way around the board. From management on down. And for everyone (LB included) to pick on a rookie when the whole teams sucks is pretty ridiculous to me. LB is the one being childish. And he's an old man. Nate is not. Yes his antics are childish and silly at times, but he's a kid. What's LB's excuse for badmouthing players in the media instead having an adult mature conversation with them privately before hand. LB is old as dirt and has been in the league for longer than we can count. Nate is a rookie! LB should now better, Nate should be LEARNING better.
NY KNICKS 4 EVER! Will we ever find players like Anthony Mason, Xavier McDaniels, Patrick Ewing again? I hope so.

good post tom, but I don't agree with everything you said, especially about crawford, I think the difference between crawford and francis to some extend and the others, meaning marbs and nate, is that craw just looked confused at times, the same with francis, so I think they took the safe route and overpassed, what nate and marbs did was as close to a mutiny as I have seen. They intentionally passed up open shots, played lethargically and tried to pass it off as "playing how the coach wants". We know that was far from the truth. As a professional these guys must learn to adjust their games without the childish behavior and eargeness to show up their coach. I am sorry but I can't defend those actions..

"We were having a hard time passing the ball," Brown said. [Nate] took it to another level. He gave up a lot of shots. I told him this is just as selflish in not taking an open shot."

I didnt watch the game but can someone tell me exactly what Nate was doing? Was the kid doing cartwheels are somthing? Did he jump into the stands and start waving a towel in the air after each basket??

Nate ain't a pg, and neither is craw - besides I don't think Craw is playing any worse then usual and Nate has no history to base anything on.

So we're down to Marbs vs Brown again. While I don't think either has done the job this year. You're the stat man can you really discount LBs history. Or do you think maybe he's proved he can coach?

the next possesion he hit a jumper, then did some globe trotter $hit with the bucket of confetti!
