Mar 28 Meet the Team Event:

Your RSVP to the first ever Knicks "Meet the Team" event is confirmed. As a reminder, the event is scheduled for Tuesday, March 28 at 6:00 p.m. and will take place in the Theater at Madison Square Garden.

Please note, due to the NIT college basketball tournament, also scheduled for March 28th, tickets to this event will not be distributed at The Garden box office at any time on Tuesday. If you have not yet picked up your tickets, please contact your Account Representative at (212) 465-6073 or email us at seasonsubscriptions@thegarden.com to make alternate arrangements.

The event will run from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Doors open at 5:30 p.m.)
FREE food and beverages will be available
Make sure to bring your camera for numerous photo opportunities
All subscribers will receive the 30% "Employee" discount on Knicks merchandise available at the event
Subscribers and guests attending the event are also welcome to stay for the NIT Tournament Semifinals, taking place in The Garden that night, as guests of the Knicks! Old Dominion vs. Michigan tips off at 7:00 pm, and Louisville vs. South Carolina begins at 9:00 p.m. Tickets are limited and can be picked up at the event.

give your tickets to under-privileged kids let them see some nba basketball or get 1/2 value and give them the money. going to represent for this pile of dung sends the wrong message. the right message to send is sssshhhhhhhhhh quiet. dont buy season tickets next year and blame isiah and co.

this is the first time the knicks did something like this (i believe). it was cool.

it was at the theater in msg. at the door, not only did you get free tix to the NIT but they gave the account holder a free copy of the knicks dynasty 5 disc dvd set. that was pretty cool. you walk in, they have video game sections on the sides. those amusement park bball hoops to play on for kids. they had raffles all night to win knicks stuff. free food (hotdogs, prezels, etc.).

they had tables set up for the players. you pretty much just stand in line and go up to the guys to get autographs, pics, whatever.

the table breakout was like this:
table 1 - jerome, curry, quentin
table 2 - nate, qyntel
table 3 - frye, mo
table 4 - david, steph, jackie

the other guys weren't there b/c i think they met their appearance quota.

tidbits:

- steph's earrings are quite impressive in person
- jerome's watch was blinged out beyond belief - it's like one of those strap watches with studs everywhere
- curry had a huge ass jacob watch on also.
- nate was there with his slam dunk trophy.
- jackie is a big dude
- the knicks city dancers were there too just standing around so guys were lining up to get pictures with them. absolutely hilarious. these fools had their arms around them like it was their girl. too funny.

i only stayed for like 30 mins then went to the NIT tournament. if you stayed longer, you probably could've BS'ed with the players when the crowd died down but i didn't really get on line and do all that stuff. i just walked up and talked to david lee for a couple of minutes just bs'ing and that was it.

it was a good event for subscribers and for kids. the dvd was a nice touch.

a big question is, would they have done this if the team was winning? my gut says no.

Damn, sounds like I should have gone. Were there a crapload of people there?

maybe 75-100 - alot of kids, but i was only there for a 1/2 hour, i think it died down after 7pm.

edit: it was over 700 people and it didn't die down. and they probably will continue to do it.

It was a nice event, Q and Jerome were stoned out of there minds, but generally most Knicks were pretty engaging and nice

It was fun and myself, young brother and little son had a blast..

Young brother was taking the pics but he's a bulls fan anyway..
