Ty Thomas won't be 20 until August. Is the new age limit saying that the kid has to be 20 at the time of the draft, or 20 before the start of the season?

Is he definitely eligible for the draft?

You mean can the Bulls get him now or do they have to wait a year?

Just kidding! I'm not being THAT much of a downer, just having a few "Knick funnies" since there aint't a whole lot else to do right now but laugh.

he would be better next to curry--all the defeciencies Curry has could be masked quite a bit if we had an athletic shot blocker/rebounder/defender next to him. Thomas is only 6-9 ish but he plays well above 7 feet tall.

sounds alot like Kenyon Martin when he was coming out of college.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

he may end up being better than Martin. he stays and develops, draft sites may read Amare as his best case.

You are right TMS, they are pretty similar coming out of college but Ty right now is doing this as a freshman and KMart was doing it as a Senior. I think Ty has alot more fundamental values that KMart does and a better jumpshot. Ty's athleticism definately is what makes the comparison to KMart and for good reason, both were just such highfylers. Ty is going to be one hell of a NBA player thats for sure and Briggs is right, he would fit absolutely perfectly next to Curry because he masks Curry's weaknesses, this is exactly the kind of guy the Knicks right now.. too bad the Bulls are going to take him with OUR pick.

Hey Briggs when you list a prospect a day I'd hope you'd eventually be right about one, nice work.

i think the rule is that they have to be 20 within the calendar year of the draft.

Is this guy for real? Or is he Stromile Swift? Swift is actually more explosive.. but I haven't seen enough of Thomas to say he can get his own shot. Not questioning the tools, but I don't see him being real productive for two to three years if he comes out this year.

He has the same athleticism as Swift with more offensive talent/upside. He's so agressive and passionate out there....he could be Ben Wallace with a offensive ability if he continues to work hard. I'd certainly take him over LaMarcus Aldridge....

Your right Rain, if he came out this year I think his first few years would look very similar to those of Chris Bosh. Putbacks on offense, rebounds but the one place he will excel more then Bosh did is defensively. Ty Thomas is not just a good defensive player, he is a EXCELLENT defensive player and you can see the makings of a pretty nice offensive game to go with it. If he came out this year(which I think he will, given his teams success) he will be a scrappy offensive player and a very good defensive player for a few years before he develops his offense.

in that case, give our crappy picks, I would try to buy a second round pick to get Sean Williams or take him at 29. I think he's going to be Chris Andersen without the drugs and with better rebounding/shotblocking upside.

I would feel save to assume your top 10 picks in order are are

Tyrus Thomas
Lamarcus Aldridge
Joakim Noah
Rudy Gay
Adam Morrison
Patrick Obryant
Branden Roy
Marcus Williams
Sheldan Williams
Randy Foye

after pick 10 you go
to a tier down
Rodney Carney
Kyle Lowry
Al Horford
JJ Redick
Julian Wright

I think since Hilton hurt his ankle 3 weeks ago--his stock dropped or he would ve been in the top 15 but could make it back in on the individual workouts.

Briggs, you think we have a shot at Roby with the Denver pick? I would love to get Hilton or Roby and then grab Sean Williams at 29.

Sean Williams had trouble with drugs at the beginning of the year[was suspended many games] and this is the second time in 2 years he was suspended from the team. While I know his physical attributes, he is way to raw to think about entering the draft.

I think we have to take a step back believe it or not to take steps forward. I think we are fcd up beyond repair--things I would do to this team would probably be poo-pooed by the board.
