they should just move the draft from nyc or they shouldn't air it on tv. there are going to be some LOUD "fire thomas" chants.

dont think thomas is coming out.

but ya, he's the next kmart. amazing hops.

if we do anything next year, getting rid of marbury and curry would be a start......
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

I'd agree. His run and jump ability is great. His heart is even better. But his game? Kinda like Trevor Ariza.

PICKS MAY BE DEALT

By MARC BERMAN

March 24, 2006 -- The Knicks traded their own lottery pick, which could be No. 1 overall. However, if the season ended today, they still would have the 24th and 29th selections in the NBA Draft.

Larry Brown has hinted he could foresee the Knicks packaging Denver's and San Antonio's first-rounders with an expiring contract (Maurice Taylor) to move up.

With the lottery weak, teams might want to fall back to get an extra pick. One mid-lottery selection the Knicks have interest in is LSU's 6-9 athletic shot-blocking forward Tyrus Thomas, who faced Duke last night in the Sweet 16.

In fact, Brown has told confidants he thinks Thomas should be considered for the No. 1 pick, though most scouts see the freshman as mid-to-late-lottery choice. Brown is on record saying he'd rather have Eddy Curry than either of the top players mentioned for No. 1, Adam Morrison or J.J. Redick.

"I can see Tyrus as Larry's kind of player," one league executive said. "He plays extremely hard, very athletic, rebounds, blocks shots."

If the Knicks use their picks, they could go for a rugged rebounding power forward to fill their toughness need. Florida's Al Horford, UConn's Hilton Armstrong and BC's Craig Smith are projected in the 20-to-30 range.

Others still playing who are projected as late first-rounders include Villanova guards Randy Foye and Allen Ray, West Virginia's Mike Gansey and UConn's Rashad Anderson.

I'd love it if we used our financial advantages over the rest of the league to move up in the draft. That would be the smartest use of expiring contracts a Knick GM has ever done.

He actually has better ball-handling skills than Ariza @ 6-9. His post game is raw, but this guy reminds me of Ben Wallace. He's got a good frame, hes got greta hands and hes an explosive athlete on the D--a game changer. He won that game for them by blocking/altering tons of shots.

I am still very impresed with Sheldan Williams to. People have been down on him but not me. Hes going to be a real good player

He's like Kenyon Martin/Stromile Swift type with more upside. He was a beast on the D last night. I'd love to bring him in...moving up with the picks is the best move we can make IMO.

the only way to get a high caliber pick like that is to OWN your own draft pick. Nobody wants Mo Taylor and two 20 picks and all of those teams at the top of the lottery dont have cap issues--weve pretty much cleaned out the league other than Portland in terms of $$--but Portland isnt trading a pick where they can acquire a fan favorite for their area[Morrison] no way no how. They shouldve thought about it when they traded for the once every twenty year talent.
