only he's a much better on-ball defender... he's got the same type of killer instinct in his game... his shot looks similar to Tim's too... he's the type of player that'll stick the dagger into your heart in a big game, just like Tim used to do... people think i have a big problem w/shoot first PG's, but that's not it at all... i think LB can work w/any player who's committed to playing defense... & contrary to what i see in Marbury, i think Mike James shows traits of being a leader on that Raptors team... i'd trade Marbury & sign Mike James if i could.

An absolute clone...I was seeing the same thing. His mannerism, body movement, shot...the way he pulls up and chucks.

mike james is a chucking nut, Hardway took much better shots. I don't want that bastard on the knicks... we don't need that, he doesn't move the ball either.....

You'v obviously not seen Timmy Hardaway playmany times. He made a living off of taking bad shots. Its just that when he was on, he could shoot from anywhere with anyone on him.

anybody see what Marbury did w/the ball when he had the chance to pull the Knicks w/in 2 points w/24 seconds left? he had the ball passed to him in transition & he was wide open to take a shot in the lane... what does he do? passes the ball off behind him to Craw cuz he's too scared to take the big shot... then on the next possession, he drives to the lane, gets fouled, & proceeds to miss a huge FT w/the game on the line... next possession, Marbury drives to the hole & misses a running layup... that's 3 chances he had to pull his team closer to victory in crunchtime, & he failed all 3 times... this guy just isn't a money player... i wish he had the same type of killer instinct that mike james has... the guy makes a fraction of what Marbury makes & he's twice the money player.

& sorry to bash on Marbury, but you gotta call a spade a spade... i'm sick of him not coming through when the game's on the line... a star player is supposed to rise up when the pressure is on, not shrink away from the pressure.

i gotta agree w/Killa here... Tim was a big time chucker... i can remember him chucking up 3's from almost midcourt at times like it was yesterday... but he was money when the pressure was on... 1 of the best "stab your heart w/a dagger" type players in the league during his day.

Briggs, you use that word clearly too freely, just like you are clearly one sided( usually anti knick) when comparing anyone to our players...

I guess, a mercedes is Clearly better than a BMW.

I guess getting the electric chair is Clearly better than the firing squad.

I guess Having your left foot, cut off is clearly better than having your right foot cut off..

The way you use clearly is amazing.... Is James Clearly better than any knicks guard player? or are you on you wagon again?

Don't worry, mike james will get his money next year, and he will be another overpaid chucker. Some toronto fans on realgm want him gone!

I see too much pretending to cover his man.

But lets be reasonable here, He ain't feeling it and his confidence is shot. the whole team was listless tonite (not frye).

I'd rather him defer to another player than just thinking he s god like. I know he is paid like a franchise, but he ain't. And if he just becomes a good soldier, thats even better. I think being over critical on every move, every scowl, and every mistake might be a bit over the top.

Wasn't it just so cute when Nate tried to take the foul shots in front of James? That little rascal!

at least the guy's fearless, & he doesn't shrink away from taking big shots... i'd have much less of a problem w/Marbs if he had some of the same.

Nalod, i understand what you're saying, but come on dude... this is a recurring thing w/Marbury... how many times do you see him taking & making the big shot? i think i remember maybe 1 time off the top of my head when he made one & then went strutting down the court backpeddling while shaking his head back & forth... that was last season... i don't know if anyone else remembers that one & i don't remember who they were playing that game, but it's the only time that i can remember... in contrast, i can remember several times Jamal & Nate making big plays down the stretch in games to pull out victories for this team... i just wish our star player could step up in times like that, that's all i'm saying... it's just frustrating to watch.

Mike James takes his bad shots too, but I was actually gonna post earlier in my other thread that he's better than any of our guards, but thought I was gonna get completely killed for it. I guess I wouldn't have.

if this guy ever gets to the playoffs w/his team i think he's going to open alot of eyes... when he was on DET he didn't get a real chance to be the scoring PG he is now... he's got the same Assassin's mentality that some of the big name stars who are known to be big game players have... i'd love to have him playing here for that alone.

Whoever gets James better offer him one year deals. You guys see Hardaway, I see Chris Childs.

Chris Childs. Very good defensive player who was able to hit big shots and blended well into the offense. I miss that guy. If we sign him for the MLE and he turns out to be Chris Childs, I seriously wouldn't be too dissapointed.

there's no point giving mike james the full MLE to be chris childs. might as well let crawford run the point then.

we need to start using our "assets" better. our MLE's have been used on james and vin. if we're gonna give it to mike, then steph or francis should have been traded already.
