I think Lee has more NBA potential than Frye

Frye can shoot the ball when left really wide open. He can do a few things for a big man that are all taught: follow missed shots, block out (sometimes), go after rebounds. Seems to me he has good work ethic. On offense recently he is a black hole. Takes a little while to collect himself before getting into the offense. Has no clue on defense. Very weak. Can't/doesn't rotate or close out quickly at all. Gets lost on the pick and roll.

Lee is working on his outside shot. Rebounds very well. Quick off his feet and moves up and down the court very well. Still learning perimeter D. I can't tell on other parts of his D cause of lack of playing time. Sometimes overpasses.

I just think because of Lee's quickness off his feet and up/down the court he can be a better all-around player at the SF spot than Frye at the PF spot. IF Frye gains a lot of strength and knows exactly how to play D, he may do OK.

lee is a tremendous athlete, I think both have real good atributes, cant teach fry's soft touch and ability to score with both hands, lee can do that, but does not have the touch, I like both guys, equally...

He's rapidly becoming my favorite players. Larry's failure to give him more PT is a

I love Lee to death, but he played like crap in the second half. There's a reason for his diminuative playing tim.

The reason must be that Mo T and Malik are crucial to our future. All those DNP-CDs were to build our future around Malik and Mo.

Frye has more upside...He can create his own shot in the post, he can play both PF and Center positions..He has a soft touch as well..Lee is good in the open court and is a very good basketball player without the ball...Both good and have a bright future but Frye will be a 20 and 10 guy on a nightly basis that can play both big man spots...Thats valuable..

I think Frye is more of a center in the NBA. the position Frye has always played is center and Lee has always played PF. they're a little light to play their natural positions, so the Knicks seem to be forcing Lee to SF and Frye to PF. I think they should make the two guys hit the weight room and let them play their natural positions.

I don't know how you can say that Lee has not outplayed Rose. Rose just started playing halfway decent 4 games ago.

I think you may be on dust. Lee does not have more potential than Frye. But hey, it's JYHO...I like both players and would like to see them together for stretches when Curry is in foul trouble...making him a 3 is fools gold.

Even if the veterans marginally outplay the young players (which is not the case), it's very shortsighted to conclude that you need to give the young players so many DNP-CDs. I don't know how he can say that either. But if that's his honest view, I honestly have nothing left to say.

malik and mo have outplayed us to 17 wins. I'd trade 5 wins to have developed lee & frye so next year we might have hope for more than 17 wins.

I think Lee should lose a little weight and work on his shot more so he can play the SF postion. While at Florida he was asked to put on weight to play center. He might be the defensive minded sf we need, he just need to work on his quickness and lateral movement.

I think the playing times do warrant some cred. These guys do hit the wall and have not been consistant. Giving them more time might have adverse effects. IT happens.

I think Lee has done an amazingly fantastic job playing a position he never played before at the highest level of competition anywhwere! That is an achievement! And it warrants consideration that his future might be very bright. An offseason to work on his shot and footspeed might yield great results.

i love David Lee & among all the Knicks' young guys, i hope he's the one that they keep... he plays the game the right way & he makes good things happen on the court almost everytime he's put in the lineup... Frye looks clueless on defense & his confidence seems shot right now, but he's probably got more upside than Lee for his scoring ability alone... but i'd trade Frye to get a good player... Lee i'd prefer to keep because he's that type of intangible player that good teams all seem to have.

In terms of upside, Frye has A LOT more upside than Lee right now, just b/c of his offensive skills, as well as his length and solid athletic ability. Nothing spectacular, but still solid. Lee works his ars off, and might be more athletic, and like I said, I love the guy, but he doesn't have have the skills Frye possesses.

why does Frye have more upside just cause he has a better stroke? Lee is quicker, a better rebounder, a better athlete. We have seen Lee hit the outside shot. Frey has more weaknesses than Lee.

I say Lee has a better upside at SF than Frye does at PF.

Think Frye will still turn out better. He seems to have the owrk ethic to learn to play better D and his rebounding has gotten better as the season has progressed. SO his ceiling is higher though Lee has made more progress this 2nd half of the season it seems at times.
