we should push for trading either steph or francis for kmart and filler (julius hodge).

i know, he has some major red flags. he's sitting b/c of knee problems. and this could be an h20 situation all over again...but i think that's OK. if he can no longer play due to medical issues, not only does insurance pick up 80% but his contract would be wiped from the cap 1 year after he medically retires. so he's not going to be on the books for the duration of the deal.

if we have a frontcourt of kmart + curry with frye off the bench and hopefully we move up and grab someone via the draft or wilcox/gadzuric - we have a nice balance there. and if kmart goes down, we'd still have frye, curry, wilcox/gadzuric.

now, can steph or francis yield another PF that's better than kmart? i don't know.

another possibility for some blue collar guys is francis to sacramento for kenny thomas + bonzi wells (s&t 3 years).

If we don't have to give up our young players, I think K-Mart would be a great player to add. Moving Marbury for him and cap filler would help a lot to balance the team

there is no way i would do it,NO---- its asking for years of bad luck. go read what kenyon has to do just to get on to the court now and the fact he cant do b-b. this is not chris webber, even when healthy he wasnt a max player. hes a very solid guy, but its like buying a 2003 Mercedes with 20k miles and realizing after you bought it someone turned those miles back. its sure looks good but it has a ticking noise in the engine? dig?

there's no way I'm waiting until 2011 for Kmart's knee to come off the salary cap.

i know what all of you are saying and i agree with the concerns. but if he can't go anymore, then kmart WILL come off the books within a year of medical retirement. so it's not years of bad luck. years of bad luck is making the marbury trade in the first place

i don't see how marbury + francis can co-exist. i just don't see it. this is everything isiah stands for - starphucking without addressing chemistry.

i'll do the deal for Marbury if we can get a future pick from DEN, especially if his contract is insured like you say.

Knicks have been much better with franchise. if it was me id add ANOTHER speed combo guard so i can go 3 guards at periods of the game

You and me are actually in the minority. If the 2 of them can get the defense going, I think that can truely be a formidable backcourt that no team in the NBA will want to face, but they HAVE to work on the D, it's so imperitive. BW, why not just make Nate that speed combo guard and trade Crawfish?

The thing with picking up K-mart is that more likely than him being healthy or cripppled and coming off the books is an Allan Houston-like situation where he's in limbo. PLaying half the season for us and being out the rest injured for years to come untill he gives up. I would defeintly not give up Francis or Marbury for him.

IF Denver had a draft pick this year I would over looke something like that because in the end I think getting rid of Steph would make this team better overall. Plus with the pick we could draft a PF or a true power C/PF that can make up for KMart if he is hurt.

completely agree... getting rid of Marbury alone would do wonders for overall team chemistry... i'd take the future pick from DEN because you know that team would go downhill once Marbury got there.

Not for Marbury or Francis, If they just want him gone I'd take a chance give them Crawford and JJ really addition by subtraction even if he never plays a game for us.

If they were willing to consider trading Andre Miller, I'd give either of those guys plus whoever else they wanted outside of Frye.

I would want someone else, Andre Miller?, thrown in. KMart is a major risk, but getting rid of Marbury is appealing at this point.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

Marbury has no value. We can't command unproteded no. 1 picks.

Its a dump for a dump. We take on the risk of a bad knee, and Marbs might cheer up at a higher altitude with the fun loving george Karl.

If one is considering a buy out of Marbs, then just do the dump. Thas providing Denver sees KMart as dump worthy.

A team with talent in place with vets would be a good environment for Marbs. Bring in Danny Fortson to room with Marbs and beat the crap out of him once a month to keep him "happy".

Get this Miserable Phuch gone at all costs. Admit the mistake and move on! Isiah gambled and lost. It happens.

See...the main problem I have with that is we on't need another PG..We have a PG in Francis who is better at playing the point position if for no other reason, he is happy -Francis is the epitome of high maintenence player-but when happy he is a Franchise player, unlike Steph. Steph is alot like Charles Smith, Glen Rice, Steve Smith, Cedric Ceballos...they put up numbers on bad teams but they are not "winners" and not Franchise players.

The key to having a shoot first PG, IMO, is having a 2 guard who can defend and score on few shots, w/o really having plays run for them.....Like a Raja Bell, or a Boris Diaw, Stephen Jackson....You put Francis at the two and it takes away his playmaking......Marbury is a much better fit at the two because his "playmaking" seems to be limited to set plays and pick and rolls. Steph's driving would be great at setting people up if he didn't shoot it 98% of the time he drove.

I think a guy like Bell, or Andre iguodala type of player would be GREAT here next to Francis. Getting a pg like Miller is replicatin of what we have sort of in a PG (although Miller is more of a floor general in a structured setting, whereas Steve's positives are in his improvising)

If we were to get Miller, I think that him and Stevie would be a bad match and a better match would be someone like Crawford, who can creat his own shot, and has no second thought of shooting, and is a pure scorer.
