Haven't looked to see who the free agents are this offseason. If someone wants to post a list, that'd be great. Anyway, I know one jumps to mind. We're weak at SF and Brown likes versatile forwards. He also would provide a shooting touch that we're lacking. Any thoughts to bringing Keith Van Horn back for the MLE?
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

you can sign Woods & Butler for veteran's minimum deals... LLE at the most... i say don't just use the MLE just to use it... if there's a player that makes sense (shotblocking rebounder or backup PG that plays perimeter d), then use it

Don't use it we need to work with the young kids, I wonder if we never did the q deal and signed used the mid-level on gerald wallace and not added jerome james how much better we would have been and what seed we could have locked down

Marbury/Nate
Francis
Wallace/Woods
Thomas/Lee
Curry/Frye

God I would have much rather have watched that team, they would have been able to play a little bit of defense

ain't that the truth. I think Wallace wanted to stay where he was and may have been a restricted free agent anyway.

Wallace was a restricted FA. Charlotte made it clear they would have matched any MLE deal. We had no chance at him. It would be wonderful to have him on our roster though.

MS - are you absolutely certain your revised history is all peaches a cream?

1. the presence of Kurt Thomas stunts the growth of Frye and cuts Lee's minutes to a bare minimum

2. Frye loses his confidence as a defensive foul magnet at center and never develops his outside game playing in the paint

3. Kurt gets fed up with Larry's random revolving door rotations and throws a locker room tantrum of epic proportions in December and demands to be traded

4. Lee struggles facing the physical Kurt in practice and loses his confidence

5. and where is Jackie Butler?

kurt thomas was traded b/c of his relationship with steph.

he is exactly the type of player we needed here as the stop gap to help the frye/curry frontcourt grow.

if lb was the coach on draft night, that trade would've never happened.

just the opposite man. I think Kurt would have done wonders next to the likes of Lee/Frye. And would have given Curry the necessary soft landing on D.

KT was bitching & moaning about playing time long before Steph got here... while i do agree that LB probably would've liked coaching KT, i was getting sick of his act too... the guy thought he was better than he really was, when it was Marbury who was getting him so many wide open looks & helped him achieve personal bests in stats while he was here... in fact, if KT had converted some easy layup opportunities instead of getting his shotblocked, Marbury woulda had alot more assists as well.

I agree with all that and I don't miss Kurt. We should simply have some tough vet playing for the league min, LLE, or part of the MLE to replace him

knock Kurt all you want, and most of the above was true, but Kurt played both ends and gave it his all.

I think that a lot of the Kurt angst was because he was in a contract year and knew it. If you were fighting for a new contract and your PG was holding the ball or not getting it to you it seems reasonable that he would get grumpy (on top of the normal grump that he was).

Frye played 15 minutes last night, and Lee hardly plays as is so what would have been the big difference, if we couldn't have had wallace i would have taken sprewell at 10 million over two, and we could have always moved Kurt to the center and played Frye/Lee at the power foward spot anything so James didn't need to be signed

there's the 1 reason why i might actually miss KT right now, cuz if we still had him maybe Isiah doesn't sign Jerome James to that idiotic contract.

he may have averaged more points, but if you watched how he got his points when Marbury got here, there was no comparison... the guy was left WIDE OPEN on just about every pick & roll because his man would always double up on Steph while he tried to penetrate... tell me how many times that happened w/Ward & Eisley?
