We have one of the worst record in years yet people say the talent has gone up, my questions is what grade would you give Larry for the year?

I for incomplete

If these guys come into next year better understanding whats expected and we find a style of play this year was worth it. If its more of the same disarray its a plain F

I can't think of a single way he's positively influenced the team. He's destroyed any chemistry or confidence w/ his 33 different lineups. He constantly bashes players in public. We still suck at defense. The only reason ppl will give him anything but an F is b/c he won a championship in Detroit two years ago. It's like if I took a course and got an A and failed every test the next year and got a B because it couldn't be my fault since I did so well before.

no set rotation, destroying confidence of our younggins, playing mind games with your team, blaming all of the teams problems on the youth when he has an ample amount of veterans on his team and his sense of humor is horrid

I'm with Martin. B- sounds about right to me. The players on this team in the beginning of the season were players that played under previous coaches and all these players lost under those coaches as well. New additions? Jalen Rose? hasn't done anything in the past few years. Steve Francis? We'll have to wait and see. Add that and a couple of rookies and the fact the players on the team aren't suited to the coaches style and you get what we have this year. It just shows you that not even Larry Brown can turn this pile of **** into gold.

C at best. He seems to not know how to coach an NBA team with some good young players.

I'd grade him on different subjects..

I'd give him an A- for his attempts at teaching fundementals. Understanding that Defense wins championships.. and half court teams are generally more effective in th NBA.

I'd grade F- for willingness to play with the talent he's been given. This is a fast break, Uptempo style team.. we got players that have to pound the ball. Let them play like that... His stubborness/ or committment to Larry Ball (Whichever way you wanna say it ) has contributed to this teams miserable record.

The truth is Don Chaney could have gotten more wins. Don had less talent and got more wins. With Larry we will be lucky to get 21 wins this year.

People say Larry is a teacher, but who has he taught? What player has benefited from Larry? Whether physically or mentally?

OK this is good. Everyone has a grade but no one - including myself - put any real criteria by which they are judging Brown. Maybe Fish did.

Let's see. Curry missed training camp and hadn't as much as gotten on a bike for 8 months. Q was injured during training camp. JJ was fat and still is. Marb has been hurt for a month now. 3 rooks. No one can hit an outside shot. No SF.

What is he supposed to do with that mess?

Brown has a particular style that he wants to play, just like Phil Jackson, Pop, VG, Avery and some others. He has a group of guys that have nary a clue to be able to play basketball no less that system.

Are these excuses or just plain fact? I guess that's in the beholder. Set rotations? who cares. Minutes? Rooks have been getting theirs.

Expectations set too high? Too low?

Brown talking too much with the media? We kill Layden for not talking to the media. The media will turn and twist anyone who does talk to them. So which do you want?

Also, I want to know who has been to the practices to be able to judge day in and day out what is happening and what is being taught versus what the PLAYERS are executing. Big freakin difference.

I like that analogy...

Does anyone here have to guess what my grade for Larry is?

I am down with these grades. Makes sense, and maybe even the A- is too high.

Listen man, Larry Brown is arguably THE BEST FUNDAMENTAL coach in the NBA. As far as X's and O's. Who has benefitted... believe it or not Stephon Marbury has! This guy was finally getting it! When we had that winning streak at 6.. he was healthy and playing as an extention of his coach on the floor. I'd never seen Steph play that well before, (EVER) prior to the injury. Q-Rich, even though he hasn't found the range his D improved under LB for a string of games. Qyntel Woods.. I mean listen certain players had a better understanding. Even Jamal Crawford at times seemed to learn... his problem is alot like of what Steph goes through... He doesn't know when to score vs making the right play and vice versa.

Eddy Curry is getting better as well... This team is learning. The problem is because they are so low IQ b-ball players.. they often regress or revert back to playing stupid ball in stretches. This is a young team, they are learning.. but just not fast enough.
