According to ESPN.com the trade is slightly different than this, and involves Portland as well...

Updated: Feb. 23, 2006, 11:56 AM ET

Three-way deal brings Watson to SonicsESPN.com news services

The Seattle SuperSonics have reached an agreement on a three-way trade that will bring guard Earl Watson back to the Sonics, who drafted him in 2001, ESPN.com's Marc Stein reports.

Watson

The deal, which is expected to be announced later Thursday, sends Seattle forward Reggie Evans and Portland swingman Ruben Patterson to the Nuggets.

Portland, in its ongoing quest for salary-cap relief, was eager to part with Patterson and acquire Denver guard Voshon Lenard (whose contract expires at season's end) and Seattle center Vitaly Potapenko (who has only one season left on his contract).

The Sonics also receive a future second-round pick from Denver in the deal, which has been sent to the league office for official approval.

what a nice simple deal that helps each team.

hmmm, i wonder why we can't make deals like that? maybe b/c we got overpaid underachieving players on this team?

Darn. Those were three players I wanted to target. Maybe we can just waive Jamal. I'd prefer the free roster spot over Earl anyway. I assume Isiah would never waive him, though.

kiki vandeweghe traded earl "the pearl" watson and voshon "mr. useless" lenard for ruben patterson AND reggie evans.

is there still any doubt that kiki could do a better job here than isiah?

good trade for DEN... Evans & Ruben give them some good added toughness, & insurance against KMart & Nene's questionable health status this year.

i don't get why SEA would make this trade though... how does Earl Watson really help them?
(on another note, i'm glad he's not coming here... i'd much rather have Mike James)

I still believe we are going to send either Q or Craw to Denver. This trade still doesn't fulfill the need of a shooting guard in Denver and we might end up with a injured PF. There is no need for us to obtain a back up PG because we have Marbury, Francis, and Rose who can run the point. Not sure how things are going to go. Just wishing for the best over the next 3 hours.

mike james is 31 years old and is a shooter first, passer 2nd. he would not be good for us.

we need a guy that will look to PASS first out of the backcourt. we need a guy that at least knows how to stay in front of him man. is earl watson "the glove" reincarnate? hell no. but he is completely different than any other guard we have.

if you asked me point blank, francis or earl for THIS team, i would choose earl.

Instead of the headlines and high dollar players these are the type of role players we should be targeting, like Reggie Evans and Earl Watson, Duhon, Battiers. It is very difficult for us to ever make these deals because we don't have moderately priced players....they are almost all high or low dollar players.

Mike James plays w/the sort of fire i want in a Knicks player... he's a money player, u can see it... he's the type of guy that can lead a team... Earl Watson's highly overrated in my eyes... i'd rather have Brevin Knight over him too, regardless of the age difference.

yeah, that's what I've heard. Gives Denver plenty of cap flexibility. and at this rate, for the Knicks, why not? the roster makes no sense as is.

i think Q Rich & Malik are more likely to go to DEN for KMart... the salaries pretty much match up.
