Real simple. Because until he's fired or walks away, Isiah IS the person in charge

Flipping the script is simply disruptive and divisive.

You loses whatever momentum and philosophy Zeke has set in motion.

It only continues the MSG tradition of power struggle (Holzman vs McGuire/ Van Gundy vs Grunfeld/ McLeod vs Bianchi) and conflict to the deteriment of the product on the floor.

"I'll ask opinions about players just to get Isiah some information," Brown said about the Knicks' president, Isiah Thomas.

Brown admitted he has been working the phones but said he has not discussed trades during his conversations with opposing general managers. Brown has either coached for or worked with many GMs, including Utah's Kevin O'Connor, Philadelphia's Billy King and the Spurs' R.C. Buford.

"I call to get information, not to talk trades," Brown said. "I've been getting a lot of calls from guys that have worked with me just to see if I've jumped off a bridge."

misterearl you are on a tangent!

OK, let me ask you, do you feel isiah kind of Fd up that curry trade just a tad?

yeah, yah, I know curry once in the evry 25 year player yadayada

but seriously don't you think that Isiah scrwed the team's own intersts by not relenting to give up a Trevor Ariza to save thos epicks--or even more so--just being a tad more patient and saying--here is Sweetney Thomas a lottery protected #1 to 10 2 number 2s and 3mm$? No swingy-dingy changeover in 07 and for goodness sakes a little downside insurance on a 33 win team for a player that didnt sign in FA with any team for any dollars and was offerd 20mm$ from the Bulls to retire? I mean its a pretty big FU--dont you agree--where was Curry going? If this ends up being a Rudy gay/Adam Morrison and one of the few frontcourt superstuds of 07 isnt that a tad to much? You think Trevor or David Lee or both are in the same hemisphere as Adam Morrison--yeah I know he didnt play a lick of summer league, but my bet is th 30 points a game at 6-8 shooting 53% isnt luck

i will say this about the swap...thank god for NBA draft rules b/c if it wasn't for the rule of trading consecutive #1's, then we would have no pick in 2007 to talk of. the swap actually made the deal better!!!

this isnt about Jalen rose or 34mm for a 20 pick -----nothing to do with it--we had ending contacts and I dont know what a 33 year old means to us long term anyway. this is about negotiating a smarter deal------if i make a mistake on something i say f i couldve done this a tad diffently etc.... so what you are saying was that trade was clean? that no one is looking back and saying darn, we bid against ourselves--there was no market for the guy--maybe we shouldve just given this etc... to insure downside--thats why teams protect picks--to protect downside risks.

I think patience and more negotiating wouldve yielded a better deal -- thats my take but what do i know about business

Curry cost us likely a top 3 pick this year and God only knows how high a pick next year. If you're giving that up for a player, yoiu better be damn sure he's gonna lead you WAY out of the lottery.

Curry will lead us out of the lottery quicker than Adam Morrison or Rudy Gay would.

I'm not convinced of that. Plus you got the pick NEXT year too, don't forget.

an ending contract is an ending contract the name of the player going in a deal like that means little-nothing. if it was tim thomas KVH or fishmike it wouldve still happened. in fact i think they throw in a 2nd rounder if fishmike was involved

all right, lets get off the subject, but as an intelligent man, you can understand that many people feel the deal could've been negotiated a little better for us/ lets put down the ego a few notches and be fair in our assessment

Adam Morrison or Rudy Gay would make us a playoff team next year?! Is this with Frye or James at center? I am aware and there is no way we will be this bad next year.

I'd say it's 50/50 that we have a better record than Chicago next year. All that cap room and the guy they think they have a serious shot at? Nazr Mohammed. Everyone else is staying put.
