I heard that this was reported on WFAN today. Don'tnow how true this is but if he becomes available...........This is the type of superstar you would have to consider moving one of the Rooks for. Don't know how he and Marbury would mesh, thats Why I would prefer moving him in a three or four-way blockbuster deal to land Tmac.

I'm not in NY anymore so can anyone confirm that this was reported on WFAN?

Consider moving one of the rooks? Dude, we're talking about a top 5 NBA player. Think again... more like moving most of the rooks, or maybe two rooks plus Marbury. You have to be realistic.

Also, don't forget T-Mac is having back problems, so you have to take that into consideration, also.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I totally agree with you. Just didn't want half the board jumping down my throat.

But yes, to even consider getting Tmac, I think we have to start with Penny (expiring, Frye and our entire draft...
I don't know what else Houston would want. I'd give them Marbury in a second but if they are trading TMac, I doubt they take back another big contract. They might want to rebuild with expirings, young players and draft picks.

How's bad is his back and does anyone know what's going on with his "personal problems" he's been having recently?

I'm not giving anything much up for T Mac.

Sorry, we already have one shooting guard with a bad back.

Did anyone see him when he collapsed on the court with back spams? It was ugly.

This is so tough man. I friggin' love Tracy McGrady as a player, and he's rather unselfish, in my mind, as well. But those back issues are a real killer. If you're gonna give up Frye, I wouldn't do it, but I would consider putting Marbury in that package and possibly sign Mike James over the Summer? I know, from personal experience, that back problems linger and get worse, but if he can at least keep that in check, then that's a superstar that a championship team needs and he and Frye and Curry and possibly Rose and Q could really flourish together b/c they compliment eachother nicely, and he works his ars off on the defense. I don't know, if I were Isiah, I'd really consider it. If we're gonna go after somebody with injuries, you might as well go after the best, right?

with that being said, this is Isiah. The difference between Ernie Grunfield and Isiah is that EG would go after T Mac when his value would be at an all time low like he did with Spree and Camby. Isiah would just throw the house at him. I don't trust Isiah like that.

yeah that's tough...the back thing - makes me think of LJ, but of course in that scenario we only gave up Mase (it was Mase, right?) and LJ wasn't as potent as T-Mac is when he's on...

Gamble of gambles though - you trade in the future for T, and T's back gives out, you're left with no T, no rooks, no relief...

Much rather take a shot at Tmac and his injuries as opposed to Kmart and his.

LJ, his career sadly ended short, but for the 5 or so years he was with the Knicks, he was one of our most important players. If we gave up Penny, Marbury, and maybe Ariza and Nate (Not sure if it works under the cap) maybe they wouldn't laugh tremendously hard at us. We'd still have 2 picks this Summer. But I could personally, be interested in taking that risk. Too bad Ernie is not our gm anymore.

i love it. every big name that comes up, we're in play.

here's the deal, to get a big name, there will be RADICAL changes to the roster. on one hand, some want to stand pat and let the young kids grow. on the other, let's go make a move for francis or even bigger, tmac.

if we make a move for tmac, expect only 2 or 3 of the current roster to remain on this team after another year.

tmac did nothing special in orlando. he hasn't done anything special in houston yet.

he likes to shoot and he likes to shoot alot. we would have to transform into a 2001 philly 76'ers team.

God no to TMac. He's been a great player - who doesn't love the guy? But all the signs are there and they're not good. He may still be chucking up 25 points, but I think his fg% is down to 40 or something, 3-point down, assists down, steals, etc. The back issue. The quite frankly choke in the playoffs issue. And again, the back, the back, the back.

Pass.

T-Mac is not worth it. I saw the game when he went down with back pain. That was the gayest scene I ever saw. I thought he was gonna die but then plays in like the next game or something. I dunno. He seems like he is not really into basketball. He can totally dominate a game but he can also disappear and coast for most of the game too.

The knicks is the perfect place for tmac though cuz they can actually afford a potential headache like tmac and still have decent talent to spare.

I would trade marbs but I want skip back. Skip has been playing great in Houston. Knicks can't just get fleeced. Knicks gotta do some pimpin too.

Tmac didn't choke in the playoffs last year. He played very well, just didn't get any support from his teamamtes.

Back injuries are scary but his numbers haven't suffered at all. He's shooting 40% but in his last yr in Orlando, he shot 41%. I believe his numbers this yr are 25pts 7rbs and 4st bad-back and all. BTW, I wouoldn't no parts of Skip and his long contract. I'd rather wait until the summer and sign Speedy or draft Marcus Williams.

Lets see, T Mac:

Left Toronto because he wanted to be "The man"

Went to Orlando and led them to the lottery before he was traded to Houston... Great...

Went to Houston, and they have been nothing special, he was hurt in Orlando and his team suffered, he was Hurt in Houston this year and they don't have a win without him in the lineup.

T-Mac has a bad back and a history of less than stellar team success in 3 cities.

I don't know about this one...

Injuries aside, youre being a bit too harsh on Tmac. He played with a bunch of CBA players in Orlando. No one can win by themselves.

How has Kobe faired since Shaq left? Not very well.

What has KG done in the playoffs without Cassell and Spree? Nothing. And he'll be back in the lottery again this yr.

Tmac led Houston the playoffs last yr and lost the better team who had homecourt advantage. Ijuries have decimated that team this yr and the support just isn't there. Juwan is washed up, stro is overrated, Skip is off and on, Barry, D-Anderson and Sura haven't played much, and Wesley is just an okay player.

Tmac is a top ten talent. How could you possibly turn him down when were giving away lesser talent on a team that ranks 29th in the NBA. Thats lunacy.

I'd give something up for him, but probably not what they'd ask. I wouldn't give up Steph for him, he and Steph alone could carry the rest of this squad into the playoffs. I'd give up any of the youngsters plus penny.

If we somehow made our team:
Steph
T-Mac
filler
filler
Curry

That team would be a good team with a chance to add role players and be a contender, if everyone stays healthy. I would give up any combination of players outside of Curry and Steph to get him, but not excessive picks because he is a serious risk and makes 80 million dollars if it doesnt work out.

id give up:
Penny
Craw
Frye
Lee or Nate or Ariza

for
Tmac
Juwan Howard

Houston would be about 10 million under the cap and would be young and still not far removed fromt the playof race with a decent draft and the development of Frye and maturity of crawford under jvg.
