Sure there is; Crawford's defense is horrible.

i'd do that only if i could FWD Battie's contract onto DEN for Watson & DerMarr (not ideal but realistic & gets LB what he wants)
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Begin purging the team by getting rid of all the crap. One piece at a time

Battie is a great defender. A really good glue type player. I would do this. I would also then throw the MLE at Reggie Evans and keep the young guys I have. Then your frontcourt goes:
Curry/Battie
Frye/Evans/Lee
in no paticular order

great mixture of youth, skill, scoring and toughness IMO

Great Deal are you ****ing crazy getting rid of a contract that goes to 2011 for an expiring deal, no wonder some of you are not GM’s

The Summer of 2007/2008

We lose:
Crawfords 7 million
Jerome Williams 7 million
Allan Houston 20 million
Mo Taylor 9.7 million
Jalen Rose 16.9 million
Shandon 7.2

That’s 67.8
And had that stop GM of ours not signed JJ in the Offseason and let Nazy expire that’s 12.8 million we would not be on the hook for

Which would be 80.6 million, closer to 82 million off the cap in salary for the year, and everyone always complains about the salary cap

Which would leave us at around 62 million dollars, but we just keep compounding the mistakes of the organization, and someone might be more willing to take on a big contract like Marbury down the road, and there are a number of big time free agents that would be available, you need to start breaking this up quickly

And no Reggie Evans I would rather develop Lee than add another contract and a player that isn't helping our offense

And if he top five protected the pick, we would have had some serious ability to make some things happen, and we wouldn't have added Jalen

Are you nuts....Jamal is not playing in the rold he should be playing...Larry has ask him to play the most difficult position in basketball and thats point guard for a Larry Brown team...Jamal was playing a great role coming off the bench and was key in a majority of the knicks wins over the last couple of years since being here...So, because he isn't looking good playing the point at this current moment, we should trade him for a guy who gives you nothing offensively and probably will be taking time from Frye.....No thanks...

I agree with MS here. Would you trade Marbury for Nash? That's essentially what Pho was able to do with the financial flexibility NY gave them

Of course i agree with you guys about what would be a wiser way to deal with the cap but haven't you guys accepted yet that this is NOT going to happen unitl Dolan is gone or gets reborn somehow?

Crawford is a one way erratic player you don't win games with players like that; is he going to play 41 great games a year, no possibly 30, so you get rid of the guy if you can, and don't take up a roster spot

That is exactly what you want from a bench player....If he can give you 30 great games per year then you are ahead of the game....

Guys we are trying to build a winner here....Craw is one of the most explosive players coming off the bench in the NBA...Larry is not utilizing what can make the Knicks dangerous...athletism...If the Knicks push the ball, it covers up their defensive liabilities and they have the players who would be great in the open court including Crawford...He is not the focus of the team...He is playing point now because Stepf was hurt....But the guy can help this team and has helped this team....

OK.

But Brown's not going anywhere, and he's never going to play uptempo. Therefore, we need to dump JC asap.

you dont give bench players $56mm dollar contracts... he was supposed to be Houston's eventual replacement

Before Brown was on board the plan was to run and the team was constructed for that...But Larry got here and now has implanted his system not using the strengh of the players....So now the team has to go thruogh a complete roster change to make Larry happy....I saw it's easier for Larry to go...JC is not the only issue with this team....

It always kills me when people talk about money, players on the Knicks and the cap....I'll say this again...The Knicks are not getting under the cap ever, as long as Dolan owns this team in this town....So why do you care how much money he spends on his players....

it equally kills me when people completely fail to realize a player's salary is a key part of his worth.

If Marbury was making Billup's money there would be a very different perception of him around the league and other teams would be beating down the door for him. Same with Crawford, Malik, Francis, all these guys we talk about.
