I can't - the last few Magic games I've watched he's been garbage. Plays like
an idiot, like a child. Way worse than Marbs. Somebody tell me I'm wrong please!

He's already said that the trade rumors have affected his play this year and even more so recently.

Yeah but the dude has sucked up untill that shot. I guess it takes you about to be traded for you to find your balls.....can I say this too many times in one night? I need a new phrase.

I can't see why anyone who's a Knick fan would like this trade....Francis is exactly what we don't need. The big worry seams to be this season because we don't have our pick...deal with it and be patient and don't make panic moves. Look how the Hornets ahve improved this year...be patient and careful with the trades.

Glad to see more and more people coming to reason, I thought I was the only one furious at the idea to have two trolls with enormous egos in our backcourt. I don't want to see that trade happening, and I'd even prefer to let Penny's contract expire rather than add to this mess.

Check Vince Carter on Toronto last year, then check him AFTER he was traded to the Nets.

I think that's a matter of opinion. Carter had showed plenty of ability on the Raptors. How he is playing now seems related to his own ability, and not just Kidd and Jeferson, in my view.

We'll see what happens, but Francis is a star and I don't think there is any denying that.

then check what Vince Carter accomplished leading his team to the playoffs, beating the favorite Knicks. Then go back and look at Houston/Orlando's history and notice that Steve "Franchise" Francis never accomplished anything other than decent stats and a Slam Dunk Championship final where he was defeated by Carter

well unless crawford actually starts to learn, change and up his game, he will be stuck in NY because of his horrid contract. Francis is so much better of a player than JC and can actually fill in at PG while JC's attempt is humorous. management isnt trying to get under the cap, so giving up penny, JC, and ariza(who is not in browns plans) for francis+some filler is a no brainer. i really dont see this exact trade happening the longer this is drawn out, but to say you're happy with JC, just wait. he usually plays well for 2 games, then dissappears the next 6. I guess with him playing well last night rather than one of his stretches of no production whatsoever people are going to be high on him.

I just cant believe people are complaining about this trade. And then you say anyone would want to come to NY. How could this deal possibly make us worse? Cap-wise it does, but we're not getting out of THOSE woods anytime soon, so who cares? Talent, the ability to win games, rebounding, passing, bball IQ, off the ball movement, guard penetration, even backup defensive help in the paint, all those things are upgraded in this deal. And what do we lose? Nothing!

What in heavens name is there to complain about? Too many egos? They wont want to play with each other? Too fing bad! It aint a hobby, its a JOB! They have to play together, their getting paid to. And when they do, they will be better then Marbury and Crawford ever were together.

So what's with all the moaning?!?! The only thing Craw has over Francis is 3 point shooting, Francis is aweful, Crawford is streaky. But we still have Q-Rich and Nate, who can both hit the 3. Its a win-win-win-win situation for us.

If I was GM, and someone offered me Francis for Crawford and Ariza, I bite their frickin hand off!

And yet Knick fans find things to biach about. Unbefrickinglievable!

I agree....

but after that morning glow wears off......the knicks still could stand pat and still be ok.

It all comes down on Larry Brown because his style of play doesn't fit the players he has......Can Larry Win with Francis and Marbs? Who knows.....if the trade goes down it's something that he signed off on cuz Isiah is working close with him to get on the same page.

I'm sick of Brown.....after Francis there still has to be something done as far as trades go.....Francis and Marbury together Work well if the Knicks can get guys around them that fit.....Who fits around Marbs and Francis? That is a good question.

I don't like JC here either. But do we have to take on garbage like Franchise to get rid of JC? I'd rather go after Brevin Knight than Franchise. In fact, I'd rather have watson and Kenyon's knees than Franchise. I'd definitely rather have Fortson. It's not about JC specifically - it's about who IT/LB is targeting.

i just think francis is attainable without giving up frye, unlike kmart. i dont know what we can give up to get knight, we dont have a contract that small besides the rooks.

Is Marbury the other you have in mind? From watching the Knicks closely, you really don't think he's one-tenth as selfish as the media portrays him as, do you?

I am for this deal.

Francis and Battie for Hardaway Crawford and Ariza.

Why?

Francis is 3x the player Crawford is.
Francis has 3 yrs $48M left. Crawford has 5 years $46M left. (Francis and Marb expire the same year)
Battie is a very nice backup C. James goes to TExas to be with penny.
Battie expires this year. If NY wants to keep him they have his Bird rights.

Ariza could be a nice role player down the road but for now he is not and he is a UFA this summer, so why not deal him?

I am not for including Lee instead of Ariza although, he may have to go.

I envision Francis and Marbury as two guys that you cannot guard one on one. Rose at the 3 and ALL OF A SUDDEN you have 3 guys who can handle the Rock! Frye, Lee, Curry, Battie, and to a lesser degree Taylor and RoseM handle the frontcourt. I think this team will be good. Oh yeah, QRich backs up 2 and 3 and Nate LEARNS ON THE PINE. QWOODS is a nice insurance.

he's an upgrade over Crawfish in all phases of his game & is signed for less years at similar dollars overall... what's not to like?
