djsunyc - and by your standard THAT next guy, whoever he is, will get the boot in two years if the Knicks are not in the Eastern Conference second round.
That was your timetable, right?
Anything more is adding time to the schedule you set for Isiah ce n'est pas?
What is the point of a revolving door?
Layden got four years. He walked a careful and expensive treadmill. Do any of us REALLY know how to appreciate jazz?
mister earl, i have very high standards when it comes to the knicks. why? b/c they spend more money than anyone else. while people are struggling to pay bills, rent, food for their kids, etc, these guys are throwing money around like it's nobody's business. it ain't my money, right? i don't care. when you see someone just throwing hundreds of millions of dollars around for a product that is not improving, i just can't sit back and say, 2 more years and it'll all be good. not when i see us slowly entering the same cycle we were in originally.
let me ask you this earl, is this a rebuild? they told us it was a rebuild, but is it? we have a boatload of young players...all of which are now expendable (sans one or two) and rumored to be on the move.
jalen rose? steve francis? those guys are still good enough and young enough to play 35-40 mins a night. ummm, where's the rebuilding in that?
nate is going to get traded. as is ariza. and you're kidding yourself if you don't think lee and butler aren't right behind them.
this team has to justify the money their spending. so they feel the pressure to win. but they're not willing to wait it out with the young kids so they make a move for jalen rose. who immediately became our supposed lockerroom leader (just goes to show you the sad state of affairs we were in already). so when he's on the court, moving the ball around and helping us from not getting blown out every night, david lee and nate robinson are sitting on the bench in their warmups biting their fingernails. some people are ok with that. i'm not.
i don't know bball. i've never been a part of the nba nor do i know the inner workings of the business. but there are things that are VERY wrong with this organization. the philosophy is out of wack and the main participants are having issues behind the scenes. and now we just picked up jalen rose (which they are trying to justify with a #15-20 pick) and rumors are abound that a guy like ratliff or francis is on their way. man, i'm sorry earl, but i can not embrace this.
what i was hoping for is not coming to fruition. so i sit here just shaking my head. forget timelines or anything like that, there is just something amiss with this organization at the top and until there's a major change, we are slowly going to be headed down the same path again. is it b/c of us, the fans? is it the media? or is it just a vicious cycle? i have no f'n clue. just like i have no f'n clue wtf this team is doing...
