"Yeah, they're booing me now, but they'll cheer me later," said James, who hasn't played more than 16 minutes in a game all season. "The same thing happened in Seattle. They booed me there, too. Now they're praying to have me back."

Hehe, how can you not love him?

Interestingly enough the most surprising thing Martin and I saw sitting behind the Knick bench in Toronto was that Jerome James was the most vocal and encouraging Knick on the bench. He was constantly shouting encouragement to Curry and his teamates on the floor.

I was really surprised.

everything I have read about JJ or heard says he's a great team guy, that his mates love him, that he's engaging and a good guy. I dont doubt any of this. He's still lazy, out of shape and a poor player. My god.. what was he in? 4 minutes before he was begging for LB to take him out? He's conditioned like a beer league softball player.

6 pts+ 8 rebounds in 14 minutes. you'd think for 30mm we could get something like that every night from him, I mean hes enormous. No need to waste money on ratliff, james should be able to produce numbers+blocks in 12-15 minutes.

thats fair. I have no idea how to motivate him. I mean he looked ready to puke after being on the floor for 4-5 minutes.

You know I used to think, darn, why don't NHL teams find a goalie that is 5-8 350 pounds. You know, he can just cover the net even with very little movement. Same thing with James, the guy is so darn big, you'd think that just moving his 7-1 arse into position would get him 5-6 points 5-6 rebounds and a block with one hand on a shake and a blindfold on.

everytime JJ came into the game, the Rockets went on a scoring run... i saw him loafing on the perimeter on the opposite side of the ball not even setting a pick on 1 instance, instead of fighting for inside position or boxing out for rebounds... this guy stinks... get him off the floor & put Jackie Butler in.

Now that AD is gone I expect that Jerome James will replace his production.

He's terrible. What's sad is that when he's in, the Knicks run a lot of plays for him, and each time it's either a travel, offensive foul, or my favorite from yesterday, an airball from 8 feet away. Only Jerome James can be a 7 footer and shoot airballs from 8 feet away.

And Fish, I too don't doubt that he's a great guy to have around, but hey, I am sure the others are just as great. I hear Malik is great too, but he plays his butt off every second of the game. James is a pansy.

yeah, its unbelieveable. I mean I'd like to think that if I were his size I could manage about 6 points and 6 rebounds even in bad shape.

what's EQUALLY as unbelievable is how eddy curry can't average at least ONE assist per game.

I saw Eddy pass out of a double team yesterday and almost fell out of my seat. I couldn't believe what I saw.

"That doesn't bother me at all," James said about the negative response he tends to generate whenever he plays. "I know what I can do. I like our fans, but honestly, half of them don't know basketball. They're just spectators. I know I'm getting better."

Going by the numbers it is probably true that half of Knicks fans don't know basketball. I bet 70% of Milwaukee fans don't know basketball. Depends on how you define a real fan I guess.

You don't need to know basketball to know that Jerome James sucks.

It's not even that. If Jerome got maybe 13 million for 3 years, then it COULD have been a decent move. He would pretty much be instantly tradable if it didn't work out. And it didn't. But Isiah got desperate and blind at the same time, and that is an absolutely lethal combination. He had to have ANY center he could get his hands on, and did absolutely no research on this.

if jerome james got $30 mil for 2 years, i wouldn't have gone nuts. but the LENGTH of the deal kills us. at least with the 2 years, he doesn't eat into the cap in 07. but now, we're on the hook for $5+ mil from 07-09. that blows major chunks.

huh? $15 million a year for JJ would be more acceptable? that's nuts too... $12 mil for 4 years is the most he should have offered that stiff... no other team would've even offered that.
