Nice job! I look for stuff like this all the time until I literally fall asleep at my computer some nights (lately I've been looking at ways that we might be able to ship Mo Taylor outta here for short-term deal(s) and draft pick(s) - maybe to a playoff-bound team that could use some frontcourt scoring down low) but I never thought of this one. You came up with a good one! Makes some sense. I hear what you guys are saying about Memphis being a playoff team and Eddie being a seasoned veteran and a big part of that, no question, but I really think it might be something Jerry West might consider... Right off the top, trading Eddie Jones would open up more time for Warrick to play as the primary swingman behind or with Battier and Mike Miller (Eddie Jones takes minutes away from Warrick, bottom line, and I bet that doesn't sit well with a lot of Memphis fans, much like most of us around here think guys like M. Rose and Taylor shouldn't be cutting into PT for guys like Lee and Butler). Plus, Stoudamire's got some miles on him now and he went down with a pretty bad injury, so ya figure the Griz probably want to free up as much money as they can so they have a shot at re-uping some of their young PG talent like Raul Lopez, Troy Bell and/or Antonio Burks. Also, that team developed some pretty good chemistry after Damon went down and you gotta chaulk that up to guys like Bobby Jackson and the recently-acquired Chucky Atkins holding the fort down - do they bring these guys back? Then there's Lorenzen Wright. Do they bring him back? Outside of Gasol, there's not a whole hellava lot of size on that team. I'd say cap room has got to be a chief concern for Jerry West... For the Knicks, they get an instant upgrade at SG with Jones who is owed a lot of money but, like Jalen's deal, it's short-term which is key. As far as I'm concerned the Knicks can increase the friggin' payroll to 300 mil. for all I care as long as I know going in that these short-term deals all expire around the same time. Acquiring big-money, short-term deals are really not that big a deal as long as those deals keep in line, expiration-wise, with contracts we already have in place here ready to expire - as long as these deals expire around the same time, who cares if we have 2 or 20 bad contracts, I mean really... Just letting guys like Penny and Antonio walk would do nothing for us right now or for next season. Instead, we got a chance to turn them into draft compensation. Speaking off, the Knicks would get another 1st round pick, probably in the 20-25 by the time this season's over. These picks are the best way we got to improve over the next few years, considering we can't do anything cap-wise - not yet. In the meantime, keep looking for ways to stockpile young talent. Again, good job Kam. I like it!
