He just said (on his show): There is more talent on the New York Knicks than last season and they have the best coach since Pat Riley. If this is the case, why are we talking about the president of basketball op.? He said as much as he loves Larry Brown he feels that Larry needs to step up because he's not doing a very good job.

About a month ago, I remember SAS saying that he didn't think Isiah had made one bad move as Knick President

Because, as Kobe said following the game on Tuesday, Larry is breaking them all down in order to get them to play his way. That has caused most of them to have lost their confidence because they can't rely on playing the way they have always played. As a result, they are thinking instead of just reacting.

I agree. LB has a lot to do with this. Marbury went through it and has adjusted, I think. AD is ok. Craw had it and lost it. The rookies are feeling the wall and lack of confidence. Guys like QRICH, ROSE, JAMES and CURRY and now CRAWFORD may never get it.

This is pretty funny actually, we are talkin bout this one gettin "it" and others not, or ever, you'd think this was chess or something. Its freakin basketball, its a game, if you play it all your life, there is really not much to gettin it. The fact that these guys can't seem to learn simple things loike boxing out, moving the ball, and rotattions on the D is just absurd.

The team really need to take an IQ test, and somehow I'm willin to bet that the young and athletic ones are gonna test out borderlying retarded. That should be the motto of IT, "young, athletic and dumb as a brick"!
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

You may be right. But its not only the players....

http://www.nypost.com/sports/62781.htm

Marbury made an appearance with Ja Rule at a HS somewhere yesterday. Talk about absurdity. To me, this points directly to OWNERSHIP, JAMES DOLAN. He should take the IQ test too. Then again I also wonder now who set this up? This had to be arranged a while ago. Wasn't Anucha in charge of things like this? Hmmmmm....

I agree

I.Thomas only messed up when he signed L.Brown. And I say that because the team he was trying to build is not the kind of team that Brown is used to coaching.

but then again...as a coach...Brown should be able to adjust.

And who pray tell might be able to coach this team better?

This team, this year maybe could be 5-6 games better if not trying to get them to do it right!

We can settle for less, or try to do this right.

I can't imagine anyone is more baffled than Larry and Isiah that these guys are taking so long to "get it".

The Bulls pick we gave them really does not matter any more. Sure it sucks we gotta sit thru it and give them an even better pick, but if its the 1st or the 10th, its still ain't ours.

Stay the course, we will be rewarded.

Extropolate the present into the future requires not imagination.

But faith is running thin. Very thin.

Nalod, what do you think is impeding these guys from getting it? What do you think will be the mechanism that will allow them to get it?

Actually, failure can be pretty darn motivating.

I think Crawford with his best friend Curry and his new little cute side kick from high school are a bit too chummy. Reezy got lots of breaks last year and Larry is demanding much more and showing him what it takes to be real professional.

This team needs pieces, but it also needs time. We did win some nice games, it is possible for them!

Panic trades only diminishes value.

I think beating them down is the right thing. If they don't get up, then they never would have accomplished a thing to begin with!

Being nice to them, letting just "play" only breeds mediocrity.

Let this team wallow in the depths of ineptitude and see what they are made of.

So far, it ain't pretty.

But if they do, the bonding and chemistry will last for years.

like nalod said, i think failure will get through to them.

i think this year was supposed to happen this way. i think it's part of the process...fate, karma, whatever you want to call it.

i'm not frustrated anymore as i'm just looking at this season as a part of the big picture.

i think lb's rotations are jumbled up b/c our vets stink and our rookies need to be developed. but you can't give the rooks carte blanche b/c they have to learn things. so they get reigned in from time to time. but when that happens, the vets go out there and proceed to stink it up as well hence our record.

i have a very strong feeling that the page will be turned very soon (the latest being this summer) and we're probably going to see isiah and steph on the way out. this is pretty much lb's team right now as he is not going anywhere. he is under contract for 4 more years after this one so there will be some stability there. i think q1's days are numbered as well.

we just have to sit through this and watch it unfold. it's tough times being a knicks fan...but i think it's also exciting times as well...

Is this DJ's opinion or DJ+others that you have heard? I think Isiah may go - and the summer around draft time will be interesting. I keep remembering how Brown and AI butted heads for years and the rumors of AI's demise were much stronger than Steph's. Brown doesnt like street baller type players and Marbury doesn't fit that bill as much as Crawford/Nate. I see those guys going before Marbury.

i plead the 5th...

this has nothing to do with steph and lb's relationship (like butting heads and stuff). in fact, lb has done nothing but praise steph for the past 2 months. way too much lovey dovey type stuff, you know? and since this whole isiah thing surfaced, steph has been silent and he looks like a dead man walking.

you don't have to plead the 5th. Just be like "DJ" or "DJ+".

Marb seems to be a little off since his shoulder thing, but just before that he seemed to have been taking on what I perceive as "Larry's PG" role pretty well, maybe he understands what he has to do or maybe he is doing it but hates it.

what i posted could be 100% wrong b/c until it happens it's all speculation but the writing has been on the wall for a while now...it's just surprising that isiah was thrown into the mix now as well (b/c of the allegations).
