Crawford and Frye for Ike Diogu, Pietrus and Derrick Fisher
Antonio Davis and QRich for Theo Ratliff and Rueben Patterson
Mo T, Nate, Ariza and the Spurs pick for Maggette and Rebraca

Marbury/Fisher
Pietrus/Patterson
Maggette/Woods/Rose
Ike/Lee/Butler
Curry/Ratliff/Rebraca

Much tougher team. Maggette I'm looking to get at a discount because of the injury. I see that as the one big risk. As for the rest I'm putting blue collar tougher guys around Marbury/Curry's scoring. Fisher/Patterson/Pietrus/Ratliff gives me a unit of guys that can play defense. Since we have no shot at a high pick in the next 2 years there's no reason to lose for the sake of losing. Change the make up into guys that play a certain way.

Marbury isnt Iverson but he's a 20/8 player with a good FG% and takes care of the ball. Curry's got his holes but he scores at 54% and gets to the line. Stick 2-3 other guys out there happy to play hard D and rebound and this team gets better fast.

Do we win 50 games and go the ECFs? God no, but this doesnt stop us from looking to use Garden $$$ to pick up prospects/picks and continue to build a pipeline.

No way I would do this if we had our picks. This is damage control but there is still an upside to that squad

I'm not saying all those deals would fly either, the point is the direct I would push the team in.

fish, I have seen a bit of Ike, I don't like him starting at PF, I am not a fan of 6'8 PF's unless they are Barkley... or Brand...

This team needs a reliable shooter. With Houston done and gone, I think we can all now appreciate that rarity in the league today.

I really feel that a pure-shooting 2 guard, along with a defensive 2/3 guard are our missing pieces.

oh, I like these trades. Which one do you think has the best chance of actually happening (from the other team's persective)?

I would be SOOOOOOO happy with the POR deal.

I like Pietrus in the GS deal, but would Diogu fit next to Curry? I though both of those guys were low post players.

The Diogu trade has no chance in hell of happening. They didnt want to trade him for Artest. They sure as hell arent trading him for garbage like Crawford.

good point, plus GS already has Troy Murphy, that's a Frye dup, right?

I don't tlhink so. Murphy's a real banger and rebounder.

heck, don't stop at 3 trades, go for gold: Penny for Jalen and Mike James.

I think you have the wrong Murphy. The Murphy in GS is a three point shooter who lives on the perimeter.

the point is Fischer has 4 years left so taking him is the favor your doing GS. Murphy and Frye are similar but when you have Baron Davis the more shooters the better. Thats their style... they run and score. I think Frye would be a very good player in that system.

The focus is less the plausability and more the philosophy. I'm not looking to starphuck or magically rape other teams of their talent. But I do think its feasable to make some trades for some players that are redundant on their current teams (Fisher, Ike and Pietrus).

Also Sterling can talk winning all he wants but a Nate/Livingston backcourt WILL sell tickets. Thats why I chose Nate to LAC.

He's a career 8.1 rebounder; he's had 2 seasons averaging double digit rebounds; he's currently averaging 9.3

How are Ike and Pietrus redundant? Diogu is a shot blocker and rebounder who,if he develops a offensive game, will be the next Elton Brand. Which big men on GS has that kind of a potential? They will trade Murphy before they even THINK about trading Diogu. Also the last time I checked GS doesnt have a tough SF who can score and play tough defense and who is also only 23 years old.

I was referring mostly to the "banger" part of your post. I know he is a solid rebounder.

He's a good rebounder but he's soft on defense.

because Pietrus is a 2, not a 3 and they have a guy name Jason Richardson signed to a max deal at the same position. As for Ike they plugged him in at center. Where a year ago they signed Foyal to a monster deal. They also have that 7 foot euro kid waiting in the wings. Maybe it would take Ariza because he's more a natural 3 and Dunleavy is a bit overrated. My point was not to focus on the trade but the type of player. A lot of these guys will be available for the right deal.

not really. I like JC a lot. I like Nate alot also. And Frye, and a lot of guys. The problem is they all have the same faults. Inconsistant, dont D and dont take care of the ball. JC isnt trash. Overpaid a bit maybe, but he's a good talent and brings some good things to the table.

I think we didn't want Ike over frye, i would not trade craw for frye either....

BTW: the Warriors tried to plug Ike in at center, and last week or so there was an article about the warriors talking about not playing him there again this year, because, he didn't rebound enough there and wasn't good enough of a shot blocker or defender to play the position. This is what they said, take it for what it's worth, I think he is a bit short to play PF, especially with his limited offensive game...
