Any man unwilling to acknowledge/respect a relationship with his own son, no matter the circumstance is a chump. Your own father abandons your exsistence--that man does not have high character in my book. I hope this guy goes away, I really do. It's an obvious cycle with this guy and thats why he has burned bridges from the Pistons to NBC, the Raptors the CBA, the Pacers. Be a man and step down chump.

Whatever. You don't even know what the circumstances were to make such a remark. What does him being an absentee father of a love child have to do with anything? What about Larry Bird, he has a daughter by a woman he was MARRIED to and doesn't acknowledge her. Should Bird step down also?

It just goes to his character. He cheated on his fiancee, had a child with another woman after he committed to his wife and then isn't man enough to acknowledge him for 19 years and counting.
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

Isiah supporters, **** off

The man treated Chaney, and Houston terrible, JYD has left the organization,
He brings in players with questionable work ethics and backgrounds
The organization has never had to deal with anything like this
Positions created for thugs, trades anyone that has a problem with stephon
Ruins the organization, sexual harrasment lawsuit pending, cheats on his wife and fathers a child, doesn't talk to the kid

Truley a man of great character isn't he

If I'm not mistaking, LARRY BIRD also has duaghter he doesn't acknowledge either. Birds daughter was on Orpah begging and pleading with him to meet her but he refused.

As far as Isiah chesting on his wife, thats between him and his wife. Pick any athlete from any sport or business for that matter and I'll show a cheater 9out of ten times.

If you guys morals are so high, you need not to watch sports because 97 percent of them have moral and character issues.

What are the circumstances? The teenager says point blank his father has never ackowledged him. He has gone through life with a father who will not communicate with his own flesh and blood. Sorry, Im not from that school. I could care less if its Isiah or the postman. What would it take a man in Isiah's position--a man of wealth from an early age, to forge even a reasonable communicative relationship with his own son? I don't like that this has gotten personal, this is not basketball--but Isiah has brought this problem on his self. And the more I hear of this man, everything adds up to what should be his departure. Make Brendan Suhr the GM.

Love child--what in glory days is a love child? Is that the deal where some of these guys have 7 kids with 9 mothers. Im a man like everyone else, but I sure as heck dont believe in that.

so y wasnt this repoted a long time ago? why now when all this is happening? if this is how knicks fan feel about isaih then u should be the damn GM. who knows wat brendan suhr has done in his lifetime too....

all this drama is taking away my passion for this team. im a sports fan i just want to watch competitive games. i want my team to have success, nymedia and knick fans like u just put a damper in that....just stepping on them when there down!!!!

Larry Bird has a duaghter he doesnt acknowledge and Magic cheated on his wife, I dont think those two guys should resign from their positions. Dont get me wrong, I Of course think both are rebukeable things to do but I still think you guys are making too big a deal of this. To me, its just propoganda from writers trying to sell papers. Not that nothing isiah does should earn him critizism, it's just that the timing of the release of this report is kind of supsicious to me, plus I dont know the circumstances of the situation which is why I for one am going to try to be more discerning before coming to the opinion of isiah that the writer of that article seems to want me to come to.

Its one thing to want a man fired for his shortcommnings as a GM. But for you to get a Jones when this man is going through personal hardships says a thing or two about your character.

All these guys - Larry Bird, Isiah Thomas included - are a-holes. Just because someone is famous or has some special ability does not make them a special or superior human being in all respects.

If you appreciate someone for his basketball playing or his general-managing or whatever, that's fine, but that's separate from the type of person he or she is. Don't get it confused.

Whew! This thread's generating a little heat.

I saw the headline and the picture of the kid as I was walking by a newstand. I just said, "Aw Jeez . . ."

I really hope Isiah gets to sink or swim here on the basis of his GM ability. I think we're having the media frenzy now, and that's what happens when you're today's headline.

But look, we all love a redemption story, don't we? Even ol' Kobe is a hero now in a lot of eyes.

Isiah's a pretty tough guy and a survivor. I hope there's enough untruth in the harrassment accusations that he gets to stay. I hope LB and the kids turn the corner. I hope Steph gets to parade around the Garden with the Larry O'Brien trophy, or whatever they call it, and Mark Messier seeks him out for a hug!

Martin it's your site.

However, attacking someones character about children they had out of wedlock (and before they were married) and insinuating that that somehow has something to do with that persons ability as a GM is BS.

Differing opinion has nothing to do with what this clown is talking about. The nonsense he's talking about has nothing to do with basketball.

Now I come here occasionally because i'm new to the Knicks and I generally find this journey for this young team towards being competitive to be entertaining. However, to you and Andrew's credit I ultimately (no pun intended) started to come to your site exclusively because it appeared that these were rational adults talking Knicks hoops.

The drivel this guy put out is not even worth a spot on the RealGM board. What are your parameters for censoring and locking threads? Do you lock threads? I ask because this stuff is pure libel and I would not be shocked in any way if someone took offense towards it. Basketball....Hoops....wins and loses...that's what I thought we were talking about on this site. Not bs drivel. If that's what it is please let me know so I can get out of your way.

But, I will leave you with this. Now if you guys keep on with it and let a lot of this crap ride, i'll tell you...it will become more than a circus.

Or, you can tell me to move along if I don't like it as you've said to other's in the past...and I will oblige.

Every ****in athlete does that.

Hell, Larry Bird did, and I refuse to admit the greatest player of all time doesn't have character.

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

I actally don't mind at all what you are saying... just don't lay down the "I think you are an asswipe" part, makes you sound like an asswipe, if you get my meaning. (it's all about extrapolation, image if the tone of most everyone who posted here started that way, these forums would turn to crap in a second. There are better ways to push your meaning - all frustration aside.)
