The Junkyard Dog is back with the Toronto Raptors.

Toronto hired the former Raptor forward Jerome Williams, affectionately known as the Junkyard Dog during his playing days, as the team's new community representative Wednesday.

"I'm excited to back with the Raptors in a city that I love so much," Williams said in a statement. "I look forward to working in the community and making a difference in the lives of our city's youth."

Williams was a fan favourite in his three seasons as a Raptor for his all-out hustle and interaction with fans.

He'll be involved in Raptors' community initiatives, particularly those with at-risk youth and social issues that affect the city.

"He'll play an instrumental role supporting many of the Raptors' key community programs and the entire organization is excited to welcome him back," said Tom Anselmi, executive vice-president and chief executive officer of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment.

--- I thought he was working for the Knicks after he retired? Did he get fed up working in Isiah world? We have no idea, but we can't deny the fact that there've been players/coaches who left NY being upset at Isiah, like Dyess, Mutombo, Don Chaney, Mike Malone, Shandon Anderson, etc, etc. And now we have Anucha Browne Sanders. Where there's smoke, there's fire. Whether he's actually harrassed this woman or not is a big deal. But even he's innocent, he's already done enough damange. No one knows if he sexually harrassed her, but I have a feeling that he did disrespect her and made her work experience as miserable as possible.

Good job, Isiah. You have truly brought this franchise down to its knees.

maybe he is working for both organizations in this role. It is not like this is a real conflict of interest here...

Our public relations department needs leadership!

Or Ms Harassment was hired by Layden! See, more Layden!

Now lets see, Layden the GM hired her, so she works for the GM? But not Isiah the GM?

JYD might have wanted to move back to Toronto. It ain't like either is a high paying job and maybe he was more ingrained in the community in toronto and was happy. He might have more future there.

And, he might also beinvolved somehow in MSG with this mess and wants no part of it. OR, he is gonna be the witness that helps her and felt he gotta leave too. Who knows?

Van Gundy has problems with Ms. Harassment too:

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/basketball/knicks/story/385951p-327503c.html

[...]

In 2001, Browne Sanders wanted to address the team on media day regarding changes to the uniforms but Van Gundy barred her from speaking. According to a former player, Van Gundy told Browne Sanders, "No one speaks to the team in this locker room except me."

So did Camby and Sprewell:

...Also, Marcus Camby and Latrell Sprewell had ignored requests from her to fulfill community obligations and were reprimanded by the organization.

And so did McDyess:

[...]

While most players understood that Browne Sanders was simply trying to do her job, they also thought of her as a nuisance. When former Knick Antonio McDyess was sidelined with a knee injury, he would watch games from the Rangers' locker room in order to hide from her because she was always trying to recruit him for a halftime photo op.

"She," McDyess once said, "won't leave me alone."

Maybe she went about it doing her job in way that didn't accommodate the players' and coaches' needs. If so, she should have been fired.

Unanimity isn't required to prove any point. I'm sure, however, that almost every player will be deposed during pre-trial discovery.

So if this goes to trial, MSG is going to call Spree as a character witness.

It would be funny, if it wasn't such an absurd point.

The weird thing in this whole thing is that she is an At Will employee, right? IE, she can be fired for no reason at all at any time without any retribution (it's too late for that now, of course, with the whole harassment thing). So, if she was doing a piss poor job, why didn't the firing happen before? If she was doing her job with a ferocity that led to her remarks by the players like the above, why didn't she have the backing of Mills/Isiah/Dola (assuming she was doing a good thing with her job)?

My second question is this: Isiah reports to Mills. Sanders reports to Mills. How can Isiah be charged with harassment if she does not report to Isiah? (maybe I don’t understand the technicalities of harassment)

An at will employee can be fired for any reason but an impermissible one. As was mentioned in today's Star-Ledger article, even if her cause of action for harassment is found to be without merit, she could still prevail with regard to wrongful termination if it can be proved that she was fired in retaliation for filing a complaint with the corporation. The issue is fact sensitive.

She alleges that Isiah made unwelcome sexual comments to her, was hostile to her, and that he grabbed her and held her tightly against him. If true, the fact that she reported to Mills is irrelevant.

no more absurd than the notion because she rode guys about fulfilling their CS obligation, she shold be fired.

Nowhere did it say she partitioned them to do a Chip-N-Dale's show.

Oh, right. There is no chance that Sprewell will be called as a character witness, yet people are fired for all sorts of reasons, including annoying other employees, even if they are technically doing their job.

I don't understand your last comment at all.
