Read about this rumor on insidehoops. Don't know if this trade scenario is seperate or would be apart of the Rose/Penny trade.

Penny and Ariza for that matter aren't doing much for the Knicks at this point. James is having a career year but James is only 6'1 and isn't a true pg either. His presence makes the backcourt even smaller (james 6'1, Marb 6'1, Robinson 5'9 and Craw 6'5 49lbs)

I gues its a good trade considering what we'd be giving up. Hopefully, that denver pick will be included in this deal.

I would do it in a heart beat...Ariza is an interesting prospect, but getting James would be nice and I think that the draft pick we get will make up for him.

With James, Nate is the sparkplug off the bench and imagine a pressure back court of James and Nate?!? Damn...James is also the type of bulldog defender that would benefit this team.

With james here, along with Marbury and craw, I don't see where Nate can get any mins in, outside of special situation.

James came off the bench for Larry in Detroits' Championship season, so I think he may be good enough, or at least Brown know how good he can be.

Would James be happy going back to the bench after earning his starter stripes? I mean he seems to have an anything for the team Ben Wallace 'Pistons" type of attitude...

you know what? If James came to NY somehow, I think he would start next to Marb. Nate and Crawford are just not good enough defenders and James is.

And I don't follow the Jame and Marb are too small a backcourt. It's not about the height with this backcourt, it's about staying in front of their man as defenders.

if James is brought here & plays the way he's been playing in TOR, you'll start hearing alot more Marbury trade rumors i'm sure.

Did you see how easily Mo pete and Ray Allen shot over the smaller Marbury? Keeping a man in front of you is one thing, but defending against shooters who will simply raise up ovr you or take you into the post is a different story.

Marbury & Ariza for James, Jalen & TOR's #1 would set this team up nicely, & you'd still have Penny & AD's expiring deals to make a trade at the deadline... but i don't think either team would ever do it.

PG - M. James / Craw
SG - Jalen / Nate
SF - Lee / Q. Rich / Woods
PF - AD / Frye / Mo T
C - Curry / Butler

IR - JJ / Malik / Penny

I don't think a Marbury trade is going to happen. Ariza and Penny for Rose, James, and Den #1 it is. The sooner the better.

Trading Marbury is insane. I would hope the last three games illustrate why.

it would be a move for the future, not to win 3 games during a season where you're not likely to make the playoffs.

i don't either... just presenting the hypothetical cuz it does have its merits in my eyes... DEN's pick isn't going to be that great... TOR's pick will be a top 3.

The move for the future is to grow the talent we have and let deals expire or trade them for missing pieces. Other than that keep drafting well. This Den #1 will help with that.

I agree 100%. I see the Raps often up here in Canada. James is as tough a player as you'll find. I'd be very happy with a starting backcourt of Marbury and James for the next 5 years. Ideally, Nate would be the third guard in the rotation with Jamal traded but Jamal has so little trade value that we're gonna have to keep him. We'll either trade Nate who could get us a decent player or have 4 guards with one of them (probably Nate) squeezed out of the rotation.

Marbury/Nate
Mike James/Jamal/Q
Rose/Lee/Q
Frye/Lee/AD
Curry/Frye

Then we still need more defense in the frontcourt but that team is a huge improvement from what we have now.

we agree on that... the TOR pick would be even better, & the cap space from trading Marbury would give the team more roster flexibility, that's all i'm saying.

I'd love to workout this deal where we get Toronto's unprotected pick but I think we'd have to include Frye, which I'd be unwilling to do.

I feel the same way about this whole thing.

James always looked liek he could be a good starter in this league. He just lacked consistancy. The Dude reminds me of the older Tim Hardaway when he was in Miami. You gotta watch him play to see what I mean.....he went toe to toe with Iverson this year both had like 30 plus.

So yeah.....Mike James and Marbs makes alot of sense......no more Crawford screwing the game up at the end.

How different would the Knicks be with Jalen and Mike James? It would be interesting to say the least.

I am not an Ariza fan at all so I could care less what he does in his career. Whatever it would take to get Mike and Jalen together would be worth it.

Another guy no one is talking about is Eric Williams....Eric isn't playing cuz of the youth movement not because he sucks. Wouldn't that be something? Mike James, Jalen and Eric Williams comign to NY in the same trade?
