What is good with Ray Allen becoming a Knick at the deadline?

Good D Bruce Lee.....I mean Bowen.

Allen's 30 and still in his prime. An expiring contract won't get him. They'll probably want Frye too.

Sure, he's 30- but what's left on his deal? 5 years @ max money.

Personally, I wouldn't want him for an ending contract (i.e., free), because he could be allan houston all over again.

But, if I'm seattle, and I'm stinking the place up, you've got to look over your roster and think, "it could be a rebuild and allen is going to be here 2-3 years @ max money before we're positioned to make a run, we're better off with cap flexibility than his 20 points a night"

Ray Allen has alot of productive years left in him, especially with his style of play. I see no reason why he wouldn't be near all star level up until age 32-33. If an expiring + Craw could get us that, we'd be foolish not to make the move.

Can you imagine Steph and Ray Allen together? It would be Steph with a better H20. It would be really really crazy.

we are no longer in the business of acquiring 30 year old max players.

thats what you think. If Ray Ray is on the block, we are in the running. It would make us an elite, balanced team. We'd be one of the top 4 teams in the east.

Steph
Ray
Lee
Frye
Curry

Is Elton Brand one too?

Ray Allen is looking and playing great. If he was healthy for 3 years we could make a serious run at a championship as Curry and Fry develop, and Detroit declines and Shaq and J Kidd retire.

he makes the same or less than TT, AD, or Penny. He is averaging 25 ppg, and would score the eaisest baskets of his life playing with Steph. NOt to mention he is a good passer and has nice handle.

We would have a complete team, A slasher/distributor (steph),Sharp shooter(ray), and dominant low-post presences(Curry). We have all of the necasary role players to place around them to make it work. It would be a dream come true, I think you'd have to be crazy to not make that move if it were avaiable.

FYI I am talking trading expirings and anyone not named, Curry, Frye, or Marbury.

i think you go get a ray allen if we're one player away...like if we make it to the 2nd round or ecf. right now, it would be premature b/c we have no clue what kind of players these guys are going to turn into. and by the time we find out, he'll be 32/33.

If Seattle keeps losing and decides that they want to start it over then I'd be much more interested in Rashard Lewis then Ray.

Caps lock?

Ya never know Killa, Rashard has been there for 8 years and although he's only 26, 8 years is still a long time. They could be interested in getting a whole bunch of new faces in there.

I would so do Ray for expiring. I'm in favor of letting them expire in general, but I'd grab Ray. When you wanted to go small, you'd play him or Craw at the 3. Whew!

for any trade involving Ray, they would want Nate and/or Craw. Plus some expiring contracts.

Agreed- Allen comes here, suits up and two months later suffers his first major knee injury- down hill from there.

that's our luck and it changes if we keep developing young talent and our own talent.

i'd rather stay young; allen will help us out for a season or 2, but then what. i'd like to see how far craw and lil nate can go under Brown before shipping them out for a max guy.

Man think of how much Eddy and Channing would benefit from a deadly perimeter shooter, smart player, good playmaker like Ray

Like anything else, it just depends on what Seattle wants. If they just want an expiring contract - definitely. If they want Frye - forget it. If they want something in between, it depends on what it is they're asking for.
